It was back during the preliminary gameplay reveal trailer that we first caught wind of ‘factions’. There, sitting on the menu next to the likes of ‘The City’, ‘Bounty’ and ‘Raid’, three other aspects of the game that we know all too little about, was ‘Faction Wars’, our gateway into another Destiny portal rife for exploring. But just what are ‘Faction Wars’ anyway? Are they simply another aspect of the Destiny campaign, or are they perhaps our route into the world of PvP clan wars? Whatever the case, their official confirmation not too long after was met with little surprise

Destiny’s Character Customization Explained
At GDC this year, Bungie explains that Destiny will allow players to enhance and customize their characters to a whole new level, “offering an ambitious number of skins, armor, weapons and other items for players to work with.” Check out the full article here. Bungie’s technical art lead Scott Shepherd discussed the work going into Destiny‘s extensive character creation system. Characters’ bodies are broken into four “slots”: the head, chest, arms and legs. Throughout Destiny, players will be able to collect new pieces that can be equipped into these slots. Shepherd said the development team is working to create
Bungie Weekly Update 3.21.14
Read Bungie’s Weekly Update below, or check out the full version on Bnet. [divider] This week at Bungie, we were honored to host a very special guest. It’s always nice to take the long way when you need to get to the other side of the studio. This place is wonderful for wandering. Every screen is another window into a fascinating world. Even the shortest distance between two points might offer a glimpse at something brand new, unexpected, and amazing. Facial Tech in Destiny
Faceware Technologies, the leading innovator and most experienced provider of markerless 3D facial motion capture solutions, announced that video game developer, Bungie, Inc., has chosen to use Faceware’s Professional Facial Motion Capture Product Line to add lifelike expressions and human-realistic emotions to Destiny’s characters. Faceware’s markerless motion capture system was previously used on Halo: Reach. The product line uses video to capture every detail of an actor’s face, and computer vision software to transfer that performance quickly to digital characters, giving Bungie’s artists a detailed first pass to which they can then add greater detail to their characters. The ease
The Lore of Destiny
It may be hard to believe, but Bungie’s Destiny has been in the works ever since the time of Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST. ‘Destiny Awaits’ read the poster plastered to the street-side wall in ODST, a Destiny teaser that preceded the games announcement by almost three years. Following that, Bungie’s suspect trademark of the ‘Bungie Aerospace’ domain kept us all wondering even more, before an official announcement set in stone Destiny’s origin back in late 2011. This may be Bungie’s first ever foray into creating a game that is more parts RPG than it is FPS, but if
Shrikes on Demand
Recently the Destiny twitter account tweeted that players will be able to summon their personal shrike on demand to travel quickly. Learn more about the Shrike vehicle here. In addition to this, the Destiny twitter also stated that players will be able to easily analyze the components of another guardian’ s build. I like this addition because it doesn’t leave you wondering what other guardians have equipped.
