Xur has returned for the last trip of the year! Looks like he’s at the EDZ this week, just a bit north of the Winding Cove area.
This week, for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
The Fighting Lion
Xur’s weapon this week is the Exotic Grenade Launcher, The Fighting Lion. It’s a strange one, but if you take some time to learn its intricacies, you may well be rewarded for your efforts. The Lion’s Exotic perk, Delayed Gratification, allows you to bounce shots off of surfaces, only exploding when you release the trigger. Pair that with Thin the Herd, which rewards direct hits with extra shield damage and Primary Ammo on kill, and you’ve got a fun, if niche, weapon.
The Stag
Xur brings The Stag, an aesthetically pleasing piece of Warlock headgear, to the EDZ this weekend. Coming with a void roll, the Stag’s Dearly Departed Exotic perk gives you Rift energy when critically wounded, and leaves a healing Rift when you die. A nice option for team players who are aware that they’re not immortal.
Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves
For Sidearm-focused Hunters, Xur brings a Solar set of Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves. Spring-Loaded Mounting, their Exotic perk, raises ready and reload speed on Sidearms when swapping to them, adding a damage boost if you’re injured. Not too much more to say about these.
Mk. 44 Stand Asides
“Pardon me, coming through,” says the flavor text on these Exotic Titan legs. You’d be wise to heed that warning; the Stand Asides are a force to be reckoned with. At full health and when sprinting, the Exotic perk Seriously, Watch Out triggers, giving an overshield while sprinting yand plenty of melee energy on a successful melee ability hit. If you want to be the scourge of PvP, these are the boots for you, and Xur has a Void set available.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
