Xur Location and Inventory | 1/3-1/6

Happy (belated) New Year, Guardians! Let’s see what goodies Xur has for us to start the year off right. This week, Xur is hiding out in Io, in a cave near the Giant’s Scar.

This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:

Lord of Wolves

A beast of a Shrapnel Launcher, the Lord of Wolves fires close-range Solar death at your enemies, and its secondary intrinsic perk, Release the Wolves, ups the ante, allowing you to hold the reload button to burst-fire more projectiles. It’s an overall unique and exciting weapon, and if you haven’t rolled one from Spider’s bounties yet, now’s the time to cash in.

And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:

Sanguine Alchemy

Fashionable and functional, Xur brings a Void-element Sanguine Alchemy chest piece for Warlocks. When standing in a Rift, its Heightened Senses perk lets you and your allies keep radar while ADS, and even marks stronger targets for you. While a bit of an oddity, I can see a place for it in PvP scenarios; you’re essentially trading mobility for better information. Situationally, that may be a trade worth taking.

St0mp-EE5

For Hunters that want to move faster, jump higher, and slide further, Xur provides some Arc St0mp-EE5s. Their Hydraulic Boosters perk… does everything I said in the last sentence, and that’s great, because mobility is generally a very nice thing. The Stompies are a great pickup, to the point where I find myself unable to sell them harder. Good leg armor. Grab them if you need them. Speaking of…

Dunemarchers

Hey, throwback to two weeks ago, when I was a young, fresh-faced copyeditor, and Xur had a set of Arc Dunemarchers available for Titans. Good times. Good armor, too. The Dunemarchers’ Linear Actuators make you sprint faster and chain melee damage to foes close to your target. They’re just as good as they were two weeks ago, so go get them if you missed out. Be fast and punch things.

Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.

Welcome to 2020! How is the new year treating you? Do you have any Destiny-based New Year’s resolutions? Personally, I’m going to continue re-learning the game after my hiatus, and catch up on a bunch of the story that I missed. Enjoy this week’s Exotics. We will see Xur again next week.
