Xur Location and inventory | 8/21 – 8/24

Greetings, Guardians! It’s that time of the week again; where is Xur hiding and should you shower him with your Legendary Shards? To answer the first question, head to the Winding Cove of the EDZ. He’ll be hanging out atop some cliffs. To answer the second question, read on.

This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:

Lord of Wolves

The Lord of Wolves is an Exotic ‘Shotgun’ that fires and looks like a Fallen Shrapnel Launcher. Its burst fire and Exotic perk, Release the Wolves, which lets you alt fire for extra damage at the cost of more ammo, made the Lord the scourge of PvP for a while. It was so bad that Bungie ended up handing out emblems to Crucible players who had to deal with the thing.

While not as strong as its glory days, the Lord of Wolves is still a good option for all kinds of content, especially if you enjoy its original Fallen weapon design. Give it a shot; it’s definitely on the unique side of Exotics.

And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:

Astrocyte Verse

Are you a Voidwalker who loves to Blink everywhere, but hates the internal cool down and lack of Radar? The Astrocyte Verse is here for you. Its Exotic perk, Move to Survive, lets you recover from Blinks and draw your weapon faster after Blinking. You also gain Blink distance and keep your Radar up. It isn’t the flashiest, but if you really like Blinking everywhere, it’s worth looking at.

Young Ahamkara’s Spine

A tthrowback Exotic from Destiny 1, Young Ahamkara’s Spine is simple and effective. It helps fill the world with teeth (in this case, Tripmines) using the Wish-Dragon Teeth Exotic perk, which increases duration and blast radius of Tripmine Grenades while giving you Grenade energy when you do ability damage. Grab it if you’re a fan of Tripmines, oh bearer mine.

Eternal Warrior

Do you find yourself constantly getting a blasted mid-Fist of Havoc? I didn’t think so, but in case you are, Xur provides an Eternal Warrior helmet. Resolute, its Exotic perk, gives you an overshield while launching Fist of Havoc. The damage reduction is a decent amount, so give it a shot; it may save your life.

Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.

Interesting, if somewhat uninspiring mix of Exotics this week. Lord of Wolves is really cool, even in its weakened state. And the armors are fine, if somewhat niche and unexciting. Grab the Lord and have some fun with it, I’d recommend. Anything else is optional.

See you next week!
