Xur Location and Inventory | 8/13 – 8/16/2021

Greetings, Guardians. Something’s coming tomorrow. Wonder what it could be. Literal wonder; they haven’t explained it to me, your humble Xur rounder-upper, either. I’m excited for it. As for today, Xur has come, Exotic goods in hand. He’s around the Winding Cove on EDZ this weekend. Read on to know what’s in stock.

This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:

Prometheus Lens

Prometheus Lens is an Exotic Trace Rifle that melts opponents with a big laser made of fire. The Prismatic Inferno Exotic Perk adds more fun by widening the laser beam the longer you hold the trigger down, and the Flame Refraction Perk puts ammo back into the magazine on kills, extending the amount of fun available to you per mag. If you don’t have the Lens, go get it.

And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:

Vesper of Radius

Vesper of Radius is a Warlock Chest piece that a) is pretty gaudy and b) adds an Arc shockwave to your newly cast Rifts, thanks to the Planetary Torrent Exotic Perk. Planetary Torrent also recharges Rifts faster when you’re surrounded by enemies, which is a neat little bonus. This seems fine for PvE scenarios, but I feel like you’ve got better options overall.

Graviton Forfeit

Graviton Forfeit is an Exotic Hunter Helmet that helps you sneak up on foes. Vanishing Shadow, its Exotic Perk, raises the duration of effects that make you invisible, and recharges your Melee ability quicker while you’re harder to see. If that sounds like your jam, pick it up.

Synthoceps

They’re mean, they’re green, and they may have a mind of their own. The Synthoceps are a set of Titan arms whose Biotic Enhancements make a Titan’s favorite activities — punching things and firing Supers — even better. The Enhancements give approximately 50% more melee range intrinsically, but when surrounded by three or more enemies, they gear up and give damage bonuses to melees and Supers. The Synthoceps are much better than they used to be; give them a try.

Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Question Exotic Quest for a sweet Legacy Engram.

Prometheus Lens is in a weird spot where I like it, but at this point an not sure whether it’s worth grabbing. The armor is much easier to recommend, if only in more niche cases. If you like Rifts, invisibility effects, or punching things that would normally be a bit out of reach, Xur has something here for you today. If not, I could understand skipping this week’s wares.

Happy Gjallarhorn Day, Guardians. See you next week!
