Good afternoon, Guardians! Hope you’re all out there enjoying the new Beyond Light content. New Subclasses, new Exotics, and the return of my personal favorite NPC? What’s not to like?
For those in need of a certain squiggly Exotic vendor, Xur is in the Tower Hangar this weekend. Read on to see what he’s brought with him.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
Lord of Wolves
A beast of a Shrapnel Launcher, the Lord of Wolves fires close-range Solar death at your enemies, and its secondary intrinsic perk, Release the Wolves, ups the ante, allowing you to hold the reload button to burst-fire more projectiles. It’s an overall unique and exciting weapon, and if you haven’t rolled one from Spider’s bounties yet, now’s the time to cash in.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
Chromatic Fire
Xur brings the colorful heat with Chromatic Fire this week. This Warlock chest piece lets you have Dragonfly on any (Kinetic) gun thanks to the Crystalline Transistor perk. The Transistor makes enemies killed by Kinetic precision kills explode in a damage type based on your subclass. This seems pretty useful in PvE settings, where both the explosion and the element can be relevant. Check it out.
Raiden Flux
Do you like Arcstriding people so much that you never want to stop? Well, that’s impossible, but the Raiden Flux can help you smack a few more enemies around per Super. The Synapse Junction Exotic perk turns every staff hit into more Super energy and more damage per hit. Bonk them with lightning and be rewarded with more lightning with which to bonk them. The Flux is a good pickup; grab it if you’re missing it.
Aeon Safe
Aeon Safe is part of an armor series that came out with Osiris. The idea is that each class in a fire team has them for stacking effect, but they’re also just bad in general. The perks are total garbage; other equipment will always do the Aeon set’s job better.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random Exotic piece for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
This week, I’d say Lord of Wolves is worth your time, and the armor is all optional (except Aeon Safe, which is an emphatic NOPE). No new goodies and a very mixed bag from Xur this time. At worst, that just means more Shards for next week. See you then!
