Xur Location and inventory | 11/20 – 11/23

Hey, Guardians! Welcome back. Hope you’re enjoying Beyond Light and getting your hands on some new goodies. In case you need to stock up on Exotics, Xur is hanging out at Watcher’s Grave on Nessus. Read on to see what he’s got in stock this weekend.

This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:

Skyburner’s Oath

Smol screenshot, but big-feeling Scout Rifle.

Skyburner’s Oath is a big, imposing Scout Rifle modeled after Cabal weaponry. To wit, its first Exotic perk (it has two!) is Slug Rifle, which turns the gun into a powerful but slow Scout when ADS, while having it fire grenade-like rounds from the hip. The other perk, For the Empire, sets the Oath to more of a PvE mode, with extra damage to Cabal, the ability to ignore Phalanx shields, and full-auto fire.

I love the feel of Skyburner’s Oath — there’s a weight to each of those ADS shots that I really enjoy — but there are better weapons if you’re interested in playing optimally. I’d still grab it from Xur, though.

And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:

Karnstein Armlets

It’s arms day for Xur this week.

Known to victims of the Mandela Effect as Karnstain Amulets, these Warlock Gauntlets are here to help you stay alive and well. They do this with the Vampire’s Caress Exotic perk, which turns melee kills into heals — both a large one up front, and another over time. They’re very good gloves, so pick them up and start making uncomfortable slurping noises into your mic as you heal up by turning other Guardians to space dust.

Aeon Swift

Don’t buy these.

Aeon Swift is part of the synergistic Aeon Exotic set. If everyone is wearing them, you get some marginal benefits. You could use these, or you could use any better piece of Exotic gear that specializes in what you actually want to do. As always, I recommend the latter.

Synthoceps

Glowing gains.

They’re mean, they’re green, and they may have a mind of their own. The Synthoceps are a set of Titan arms whose Biotic Enhancements make a Titan’s favorite activities — punching things and firing Supers — even better. The Enhancements give approximately 50% more melee range intrinsically, but when surrounded by three or more enemies, they gear up and give damage bonuses to melees and Supers. The Synthoceps are much better than they used to be; give them a try.

Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random Exotic piece for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.

Also, Xur now has a quest to get an Exotic Cipher! By doing Strikes or winning Crucible or Gambit games, you can unlock a Cipher to access vaulted Exotic gear!

Hope you like Arms, because that’s what Xur brought today. Luckily, 2/3 of them are great. You can’t go wrong with the Karnsteins or the Synthoceps. You can only go wrong with Aeon Swift. I’m personally biased towards Skyburner’s Oath, so take it or leave it (Taaaake iiiit).

See you next week, where maybe we won’t see an Aeon item.
