Welcome back, Guardians! It’s been a minute. Good to see you. You know who else you should see? Xur, Agent of the Nine, Exotic merchant, and generally cool dude. He’s at the EDZ this week, at the Winding Cove. Read on to see this weekend’s wares.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
The Wardcliff Coil
Rocket Launcher goes brrrrrrrr
The Wardcliff Coil is an Exotic Rocket Launcher. It separates itself from the pack partially by looking like some sort of weird domed beehive, but largely through Mad Scientist, the Exotic Perk that makes the Coil fire volleys of tiny rockets instead of one big one. The Coil is fun and effective in both PvP and PvE scenarios; those tiny rockets add up to some big damage. If you don’t have one yet, now’s a good time to buy.

Felwinter’s Helm
For Warlock fans of legendary Guardians (and once upon a time, comically ranged shotguns), Felwinter’s Helm is in stock this week. The Helm has the Warlord’s End Exotic Perk, making elemental melee kills cause a weakening effect in an area around you. It’s a neat idea that sounds handy in giant mobs. Give it a shot.
Wormhusk Crown
Hunters this week get access to the Wormhusk Crown, an Exotic Helmet that aims to keep them alive. Burning Soul, the Crown’s Exotic Perk, allows you to regain a bit of health and shielding when you dodge roll. Doesn’t seem relevant to me, but I’ve been wrong before.
One-Eyed Mask
Titans also get a fancy hat this week; the terrifying One-Eyed Mask. The Mask gives you the gift of Vengeance, giving you an overshield and damage boost after you kill someone who dared to touch you in combat. The Mask is an excellent pickup, absolutely worth the grab.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
Xur’s fancy hat sale is overall pretty decent. Poor Hunters; I can’t remember the last time I looked up an Exotic for them and wasn’t comically disappointed. But at least Hunters can also buy a Wardcliff Coil; that thing is fun for everyone.
