Welcome back, Guardians! Xur is back for the weekend, ready to throw fun Exotics our way if we’re lucky, and, ironically, Lucky Pants if we’re not. Boy, I hope that isn’t foreshadowing anything. You’ll find Xur around Calus’ Barge on Nessus this week. Let’s see what he’s got.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
Prometheus Lens
“Cryptarchs made a crystal that starts fires? Get me one. I don’t care how you do it. Go!”

Prometheus Lens is an Exotic Trace Rifle that melts opponents with a big laser made of fire. Fun! The Prismatic Inferno Exotic perk adds more fun by widening the laser beam the longer you hold the trigger down, and the Flame Refraction perk puts ammo back into the magazine on kills, extending the amount of fun available to you per mag. If you don’t have the Lens, go get it.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
Apotheosis Veil
A throwback Exotic from Destiny 1, the Apotheosis Veil is a strictly meh Warlock Helmet. It’s Insatiable perk regenerates your health and abilities when you use your Super. It’s fine, but Warlocks aren’t exactly hurting for good Exotic armor, so I can’t recommend it. If you’re collecting, though, Xur has an Arc one available for you.
Lucky Pants
Oh, I guess I was foreshadowing something earlier.
I’ve already written more about Lucky Pants in prior Xurposts than anyone should ever have to. They’re bad. I’m sad every time they’re in Xur’s inventory. Don’t buy them. Or, maybe, buy them all. Throw all of your Shards at these terrible pants so Xur somehow runs out and never darkens our doorway with them again. Your call.
Helm of Saint-14
Ending on a high note, we get another throwback Exotic in a Void Helm of Saint-14. The Helm is one of the cooler looking Titan hats, but nobody will ever know thanks to the Starless Night perk, which punishes people who step into your Ward of Dawn to look at it by blinding them. It’s a simple process; burn their retinas, punch their faces, win the fight. The fact that Weapons of Light is in a good place right now makes this helmet even better for PvE scenarios. Go get it, and make sure to walk by Saint-14 himself in the Tower when you do. He loves it.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random Exotic piece for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
Kind of a mixed bag for Xur items this week, unless you’d like to be a Titan with a flaming laser, then I suppose it’s all upside. Get the Helm of Saint-14 and the Prometheus Lens, and glare at Xur for bringing the Pants again. His will may not be his own, but he can at least request something better for next week, right?
