Xur Location and Inventory | 1/17-1/20

Joyous Xursday, everybody! Everyone’s favorite spooky, betentacled gift-giver is back! Xur is hanging out on Nessus this week, at the northern end of Watcher’s Grave.

This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:

The Colony

We’ve made some pretty messed-up stuff. You’ve probably seen it. You know. But we’ve never made anything like the Colony before.

The Colony Lore

The Colony is an Exotic Grenade Launcher with a pretty neat gimmick. Insectoid Robot Grenades, its Exotic perk, turns missed grenades into angry insectoid robots that hunt down and damage the nearest target. You can miss by quite a bit and still get your damage in; bugs find a way. Serve the Colony reloads while the weapon is stowed, making it just that bit more useful in PvE. Pick it up if you didn’t get one when Curse of Osiris was going on; it’s a really fun gun.

And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:

Lunafaction Boots

Warlocks in need of shoes can get some Solar Lunafaction Boots from Xur today. The once-mighty Boots may not be as nuts as they used to be, but the Alchemical Etchings Exotic perk still grants faster reload speed in a Rift you create. They’re still pretty useful, and worth the pickup if you need them.

Shinobu’s Vow

An idea I’ve heard before; “More grenades, more better.” Grammatically awful as it is, if you agree, Shinobu’s Vow is for you. The Exotic Hunter arms empower and add a charge to your Skip Grenades with the intrinsic New Tricks perk. If you’re an Arcstrider in need of more explosions, look no further than this Arc Shinobu’s Vow.

Mask of the Quiet One

Titans this week are treated to an excellent Exotic helmet in a Void Mask of the Quiet One. Dreaded Visage, its Exotic perk, gives you energy for everything except your Super when you take damage, and Void ability kills trigger health regen. Unless you somehow consistently avoid getting hit, this helmet is a great pickup.

Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.

We’re a small ways into The Season of Dawning now. How’s it treating you? Do you have your Symmetry? I’ve given it a try, and I’m enjoying it in basically everything. See you next week!
