Season of Dawn is here, and Guardians throughout the galaxy are already earning the prizes the Sundial provides. However, as with every release in Destiny 2, the changes introduced can be overwhelming for some. If you’re wondering what weapons you can get from the Sundial and how to earn them, we’ll detail as much as we currently have below.
Activating Obelisks
Through the story beats, you’ll be introduced to the Obelisks and given instructions on how to activate them. So far, we have seen two main steps; defeat certain enemy types on the relevant planet, then bank the light you charged up from doing so in the Obelisk on that planet. After that, you’ll be asked to get super kills and collect Orbs of Light to refill your Light, then bank it again at the Obelisk.
Once the Obelisk activates, you can pick up bounties and weapon frames, and work to increase the Obelisk’s resonance rank. I think increasing an Obelisk’s resonance rank unlocks more bounties and frames, but time will tell if that proves to be the case. You can choose what loot you get at the end of the Sundial activity based on which Obelisk is activated. To swap activations, there is an option when interacting with them to reset the activations. Next to that is an option to activate that specific Obelisk.
