Festival of the Lost Guide | 2019

Eva Levante and the Festival of the Lost are back this year with all of the usual holiday shenanigans: masks, a unique Legendary Auto Rifle, and, new this year, another source of Pinnacle Gear. Not much has changed since last year, but there are a few new things worth talking about. Let’s go over everything you need to know about 2019’s Festival of the Lost.

WHERE TO START

You’ll be automatically loaded into the Tower after initially logging into your character and watching a special cinematic for the Shadowkeep storyline. Speak with Eva Levante in the center of the Tower to kick off your seasonal fun. She’ll sell you one Masquerader’s Hood, which replaces last year’s individual masks. You’ll be able to change the appearance of the Hood to that of any of the masks you’ve earned last year as ornaments, in addition to any you unlock this year.

There are two Seasonal Currencies for this year’s Festival of the Lost: Candy (which drops from enemy kills during the festival) and Chocolate Strange Coins (rewarded from completing Eva’s bounties).
Eva has several bounties available; Weeklies will cost you 1,000 Glimmer, and Dailies will cost 250 Glimmer. Repeatable Bounties cost 3,000 Glimmer and reward XP and 1 Chocolate Strange Coin.

• (Weekly) Bounty of the Forest: Collect 300 Candy inside the Haunted Forest. Rewards XP, Glimmer, and 5 Chocolate Strange Coins.

• (Weekly) The Sweetest Loot: Complete activities outside of the Haunted Forest to collect 25 Chocolate Strange Coins. Rewards XP, Glimmer, and 5 Chocolate Strange Coins.

• (Daily) Masked Competition: Complete a Crucible match while wearing a Festival of the Lost mask. Rewards XP and 2 Chocolate Strange Coins.

• (Daily) Masked Intentions: Complete a Gambit match while wearing a Festival of the Lost mask. Rewards XP and 2 Chocolate Strange Coins.

• (Daily) Masked Light: Defeat enemies with your Super while wearing a Festival of the Lost mask. Guardians grant the most efficient progress. Rewards XP and 2 Chocolate Strange Coins.

• (Daily) Masked Bomber: Defeat enemies with grenades while wearing a Festival of the Lost mask. Defeating Guardians grants the most efficient progress. Rewards XP and 2 Chocolate Strange Coins.

MASKS

You can buy one at Power Level mask from Eva at the start for 100 Glimmer. You’ll be able to choose one from three possible masks with either an Arc, Solar, or Void affinity. Be sure to pick the right helmet at first, because any helmet you buy after the first will drop at 750 Power and cost 500 Candy to infuse to higher levels.

Eva sells five mask ornaments for your seasonal helmet.

• Hidden Swarm Mask (10 Chocolate Strange Coins)
• Goblin Mask (20 coins)
• Mithrax Mask (30 coins)
• Opulent Calus Mask (40 coins)
• Drifter Mask (50 coins)

These masks come with three possible seasonal mods, of which you can equip one at a time.

o Significantly increased damage to all enemies.
o Increases the drop chance of Heavy ammo on kill.

Vampiric Touch
o Significantly increased damage to challenging enemies.
o Precision kills trigger health regeneration.
o Increases the drop chance of Heavy ammo on kill.

Energetic Assassin
o Precision kills grant grenade and melee energy.
o Significantly increased damage to Terrors.
o Increases the drop chance of Heavy ammo on kill.

BRAYTECH WEREWOLF

Eva is selling a new fully Masterworked Auto Rifle, the Braytech Werewolf, for 1,000 Candy. YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE ALL FIVE MASKS FROM EVA TO BE ABLE TO BUY THIS WEAPON. It’s Kinetic, and comes with the following perks.

• Precision Frame: This weapon’s recoil pattern is more predictably vertical
• Hammer-Forged Rifling: Increases Range (+10)
• Armor-Piercing Rounds: Rounds cause extra damage to combatants’ shields and over-penetrate targets (+5 Range)
• Zen Moment: Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability
• Multikill Clip: Reloading grants increased damage based on the number of rapid kills made beforehand (stacks to x3)
• Range Masterwork: +10 Range

Autos are in a good place in the Crucible after the recent Hand Cannon Range changes. This weapon specifically can do well with Anti-Barrier rounds to bust the shields on Barrier Champions. After buying this Masterworked weapon you’ll be able to buy a randomly rolled version of the weapon for 250 Candy, 5,000 Glimmer, and 5 Legendary Shards.

Eva also sells an Epic Mystery Grab Bag for 25 Chocolate Strange Coins and 300 Candy, and a blue Mystery Grab Bag for 150 Candy.

HAUNTED FOREST

This year’s Festival of the Lost brings back the Haunted Forest variant of the Infinite Forest activity. You’ll kill enemies to complete waves to 100%, after which you and your fireteam are teleported to a boss room to kill a boss and start the process over again. You’ll have 15 minutes to clear as many waves as you can. The Forest becomes more difficult as you clear more waves, applying negative modifiers such as Glass, Blackout, etc., that will begin stacking with each other as you clear more and more. You’ll be rewarded with Candy, Coins, and mask ornaments at the end of the run.

That’s all for now. Go out there and get yourself all the mask ornaments and that god roll Braytech Werewolf!
