Your first gold score in a Public Event each day rewards you with some nice goodies mailed to you by the Postmaster. Public Events can occur anywhere in open public areas (that is, any place in the world where you can encounter other Guardians not in your Fireteam), and they have a chance of occurring periodically. There are total of 62 Dead Ghosts and 20 Gold Chests in the game. Some Gold Chests are only available during Strike Missions. For the Ghost Hunter Achievement you only need 50/62 Dead Ghosts. The 20 Chests have no achievement associated with them, but they’ll give you unique rewards.
