Facial Tech in Destiny

Faceware Technologies, the leading innovator and most experienced provider of markerless 3D facial motion capture solutions, announced that video game developer, Bungie, Inc., has chosen to use Faceware’s Professional Facial Motion Capture Product Line to add lifelike expressions and human-realistic emotions to Destiny’s characters. Faceware’s markerless motion capture system was previously used on Halo: Reach. The product line uses video to capture every detail of an actor’s face, and computer vision software to transfer that performance quickly to digital characters, giving Bungie’s artists a detailed first pass to which they can then add greater detail to their characters. The ease

Shrikes on Demand

Recently the Destiny twitter account tweeted that players will be able to summon their personal shrike on demand to travel quickly. Learn more about the Shrike vehicle here. In addition to this, the Destiny twitter also stated that players will be able to easily analyze the components of another guardian’ s build. I like this addition because it doesn’t leave you wondering what other guardians have equipped.

Weekly Update 3.14.14

Read Bungie’s full Weekly Update below, or check it out on Bnet. [divider] This week at Bungie we… We… You know what? I’m not completely sure. I’ll be completely honest with you, weekly reader. Last night, I wrote these words in the window seat of an aeroplane. Again. Yeah, I know. And, it’s not the last – not by a damn sight. Don’t worry. I’m not about to placate you with stories about airport security. This week was an easy jaunt. Los Angeles was our Destination. By comparison to recent missions, this one felt like it was just on the

Destiny PS4 TV Spot

Last night, Playstation aired a new “Sharing is caring” TV spot featuring Destiny gameplay. While most of the footage is considered old, there is a scene or two which we haven’t seen before. Thanks to PoK3R_FaC3D on reddit for submitting the link. [yframe url=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTXN9uCd0mw’] What’s new is the scene where we see three guardians sitting and enjoying the view, as well as the scene with the guardians on their Shrikes. This seems to confirm both the sitting emote as well as the pointing emote while riding in vehicles.

Weekly Update 3.7.14

Read the full Weekly Update here. This week at Bungie, we ventured forth from our Tower on another dangerous mission. Our objective was the same as it always is: World Domination. There are people on this planet who have yet to receive our brave invitation to adventure. Unlike you, the elite community that’s mined and dissected every detail we’ve let slip from our grasp, they know not their destiny. Thus, we’ll plot and scheme behind closed doors in secret meetings with powerful allies, to catch them up to you. The last time Urk and I had an excellent adventure like

Weekly Update 2.28.14

Read the full Weekly Update here [divider] This week at Bungie, we entered a new phase of development. The strife and conflict of the Pentathlon fades in our rear-view mirror. A fresh build of Destiny sits on every desk in the studio – a monument to a battle for the ages. Four dueling schools have laid down arms to reconstruct our union. Our team has been reunited. As the smoke cleared from the air, Luke Smith stopped by my desk. When he stops by, I listen. In the golden age of Halo 3, he walked this very beat. Now, he’s
