Greetings, Guardians! Hope you’re having a nice summer. This week, Xur is at Watcher’s Grave on Nessus. Read on to browse his wares.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
Fighting Lion
💪🦁
Xur’s weapon this week is the Exotic Grenade Launcher, Fighting Lion. It’s a strange one, but if you take some time to learn its intricacies, you may well be rewarded for your efforts. The Lion’s Exotic perk, Delayed Gratification, allows you to bounce shots off of surfaces, only exploding when you release the trigger. Pair that with Thin the Herd, which rewards direct hits with extra shield damage and Primary Ammo on kill, and you’ve got a fun, if niche, weapon.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
Wings of Sacred Dawn
The Wings of Sacred Dawn are an Exotic Chest piece for Dawnblade Warlocks. Their Tome of Dawn perk allows you to hang in the air while ADS, reducing flinch, gaining accuracy, and getting some damage resistance. Hangtime increases with hits, so if you’re accurate, you can stay airborne for a bit. I can’t recommend this strategy – people know how to look up in Destiny – but if this sounds like your kind of plan, go ahead and give the Wings a shot.
The Sixth Coyote
Xur has realized that Hunters need to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge more, so he offers them The Sixth Coyote this week. The Sixth Coyote comes with the Double Dodge Exotic perk, allowing users to… double dodge. Useful? Sure. Gamebreaking? Nah. Grab it if you need it.
Armamentarium
You know what’s never bad? An extra grenade. Titans can opt into that simple, yet effective philosophy this week by picking up The Armamentarium. And Another Thing gives you another Grenade charge to blast your enemies with. Sometimes, that’s all you need. Pick it up if you don’t have it.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Question Exotic Quest for a sweet Legacy Engram.
This week’s haul is largely a matter of taste. Some really like the niche qualities of Exotics like Fighting Lion and Sixth Coyote; some really don’t. That makes it hard to recommend for our against anything in particular. If you don’t have everything here, try out something new. At worst, you’re out some Shards; at best, you find something that makes the game that little bit more fun to play.
See you next week!
