Greetings, Guardians! Hope you’re enjoying Season of the Splicer. If you need some unique gear to spice things up, I know a guy. Xur, everyone’s favorite Exotic Merchant, has returned for his weekly visit. He’s hanging out at [location] this time. Read on to browse his wares.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
The Jade Rabbit
The Jade Rabbit is an Exotic Kinetic Scout Rifle with a nice aesthetic and a fun Exotic Perk. The Fate of All Fools lets you chain body shots to make the next precision shot deal bonus damage and return ammo directly to your magazine. It’s also the author of this column’s absolute favorite gun in the game. It feels great to use and the Exotic perk lets you be a bit sneaky with your damage output in PvP settings. I’m definitely biased, but The Jade Rabbit is definitely a solid gun. Grab it if you don’t have one.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
Skull of Dire Ahamkara
The Skull of Dire Ahamkara is a Warlock Helmet with the Actual Grandeur Exotic Perk, which ups your damage resistance while Nova Bombing and grants immediate Super energy on kill, so you can do it again more quickly. It’s not a bad helmet, but Warlocks have a lot of Exotic armor to choose from, and the Skull isn’t the absolute best. That said, it’s pretty good, and situationally great, so give it a shot, oh bearer mine.
Ophidia Spathe
Ophidia Spathe is an Exotic Hunter Chest that gives Gunslingers another Throwing Knife with its Scissor Fingers Exotic Perk. It also has snakes all over it. On a completely unrelated note, a lesson I’ve learned writing this column for over a year is that Hunter Exotics have a tendency to be depressing to try to write content for.
Mask of the Quiet One
Titans are treated this week to an excellent Exotic helmet in the Mask of the Quiet One. Dreaded Visage, its Exotic perk, gives you energy for everything except your Super when you take damage, and Void ability kills trigger health regen. Unless you somehow consistently avoid getting hit, this helmet is a great pickup.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
Weird to see Mask twice in a row, but it’s pretty nice, so I’ll take it. If you missed it last week, here’s another opportunity. Skull is back for the first time in a while, so grab it if you need it for your collection. Ophidia Spathe is completely missable, as usual.
See you next week!
