Welcome back, Guardians! It’s Friday. You know what that means; the return of Xur, Agent of the Nine and Exotic vendor. Early signs point to Xur being on Io this week, hiding in that area of the Giant’s Scar he loves so much. Let’s see what he’s got for us.
For 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
Hard Light
An Exotic Auto Rifle dating back to the early days of Destiny 1, Hard Light is currently a force to be reckoned with in the Trials of Osiris. Omolon packed this gun full of tricks, then Bungie gave it a buff and sent it out to cause havoc. It has an Exotic Perk, The Fundamentals, which lets you switch between typess of elemental damage by holding the reload button, and that’s cool, but we all really know why you’re making the trip to Xur, Guardian. It’s because of Volatile Light, the perk that removes damage falloff for Hard Light’s projectiles, also letting them bounce and pierce through targets. Hard Light is super good right now; get it if you don’t have it.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
Contraverse Hold
Warlocks can invest in the Contraverse Hold Exotic gauntlets this week. If you’re a fan of using your charged Void grenade abilities, this piece is right up your alley. The Hold’s Chaotic Exchanger perk allows you to resist some damage while charging your Grenade ability, then rewarding you for hitting it by giving you back some Grenade energy on hit. As a Handheld Supernova fan, I like the sound of all of that. Pick these up if you enjoy that niche like I do.
Orpheus Rig
Hunters can treat themselves to a fine pair of boots in the Orpheus Rig. The Rig’s Exotic Perk, Uncanny Arrows, gives your Moebius Quiver more energy, allowing you to fire more tethers. Absolutely not a bad pickup if you don’t have them yet.
Stronghold
Are you a Titan that loves to swing a Sword? If you fit that niche, the Stronghold gauntlets are for you. Their Clenched Fist perk gives you movement speed while blocking with a Sword, stops the block from draining ammo, and even heals you if you time the block correctly. If you’re a Titan that prefers to get up close and personal with something other than your fists, check it out.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random Exotic piece for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
