Like clockwork, Xur, the Exotic-hoarding Agent of the Nine, has returned for another weekend. This week, reports show Xur at the EDZ, in the Winding Cove area. Let’s see what tracking him down gets us this time.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
The Huckleberry
The Huckleberry is an Exotic Submachine Gun that trades control for power, thanks to Ride the Bull, its Exotic perk. Ride the Bull gives you more power the longer you hold the trigger down, at the cost of far less accuracy. It also gives you a partial ammo refund on kill. Pick it up and try it out; it’s not obscenely powerful, but it’s definitely fun.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
Skull of Dire Ahamkara
Warlocks this week can treat themselves to an Arc Skull of Dire Ahamkara. The Skull has the Actual Grandeur Exotic perk, which ups your damage resistance while Nova Bombing and grants immediate Super energy on kill, so you can do it again more quickly. It’s not a bad helmet, but Warlocks have a lot of Exotic armor to choose from, and the Skull isn’t the absolute best. That said, it’s pretty good, and situationally great, so give it a shot, oh bearer mine.
The Sixth Coyote
Xur has realized that Hunters need to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge more, so he offers them a Void The Sixth Coyote this week. The Sixth Coyote comes with the Double Dodge Exotic perk, allowing users to… double dodge. Useful? Sure. Gamebreaking? Nah. Grab it if you need it.
Crest of Alpha Lupi
Not every Exotic needs to be flashy to be good; the Crest of Alpha Lupi stands as proof. Survival Well, the Crest’s intrinsic perk, makes Supers grant more Orbs of Light while also making your Barricades trigger health regen. These two effects are huge, and can definitely save a fireteam in PvE and PvP. Xur has a Solar Crest for sale this week. You’d be crazy not to pick it up if you’re a Titan player.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random Exotic piece for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
Xur brought some goods this week, both fun (The Huckleberry) and functional (The Crest). It’s always more fun to find him when he brings a neat variety of stuff. Try it all out, see what works for your playstyle, and most importantly, have fun out there, Guardians. See you next week.
