Greetings, Guardians, and Happy Holidays to those who celebrate. Xur’s at the Tower this week. Read on to see the gifts he’s brought along.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
The Prospector
The Prospector is a full-auto Grenade Launcher with a few tricks up its sleeve. The Excavation Exotic perk allows you to hold down the fire button to continuously launch grenades. The grenades stick to surfaces and cook while the trigger is down, then explode simultaneously when it’s released. It’s a pretty entertaining weapon for PvE. Pick it up and find out if there’s gold in them hills (by aggressively and explosively mining them with The Prospector).
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
The Stag
The Stag is a strange Exotic Warlock helmet. Dearly Departed, its Exotic Perk, gives you Rift Energy when near death, and leaves a healing Rift around you when you actually die. It’s niche, to be sure, but definitely worth keeping if you like playing late game fashion Destiny or miss the original Ram skull helmet.
Lucky Raspberry
A throwback Exotic, Lucky Raspberry is a Hunter Chest piece that gives your Arc grenades a bit more of everything. The Probability Matrix Exotic Perk makes your Arcbolt Grenades chain further and gives them a chance to reset on damage. Like any Hunter Exotic I have to do research on, I can’t recommend it. Despite the plethora of horrid Hunter Exotics, there are much better things you could be doing than using Lucky Raspberry.
One-Eyed Mask
Titans get a fancy hat this week; the terrifying One-Eyed Mask. The Mask gives you the gift of Vengeance, giving you an overshield and damage boost after you kill someone who dared to touch you in combat. The Mask is an excellent pickup, absolutely worth the grab.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, along with the Exotic Quest “The Question.”
The Witch Queen DLC added Legendary weapons and armor to Xur’s weekly drops, at 50 Legendary Shards and 1000 Glimmer per item. They are:
- Escape Velocity (SMG)
- Last Perdition (Energy Pulse Rifle)
- Whispering Slab (Bow)
- Timelines’ Vertex (Fusion Rifle)
- Hollow Words (Fusion Rifle)
- Honor’s Edge (Sword)
- The Scholar (Scout Rifle)
- Wing Contender set [Head, Arms, Torso, Legs, Cloak] (Hunter)
