Greetings, Guardians! Hope your new year is off to a good start. Xur is in the Tower this week; read on to browse his wares.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
Fighting Lion
Xur’s weapon this week is the Exotic Grenade Launcher, Fighting Lion. It’s a strange one, but if you take some time to learn its intricacies, you may well be rewarded for your efforts. The Lion’s Exotic perk, Delayed Gratification, allows you to bounce shots off of surfaces, only exploding when you release the trigger. Pair that with Thin the Herd, which rewards direct hits with extra shield damage and Primary Ammo on kill, and you’ve got a fun, if niche, weapon.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
Ophidian Aspect
For the Warlocks, Xur brings a set of Ophidian Aspect Gauntlets. These snek gloves carry the Cobra Totemic Exotic perk, allowing you to ready your weapons faster, reload faster, and melee from slightly further away. They’re good at everything; pick them up if you need them.
Shinobu’s Vow
Shinobu’s Vow is a niche tool for Arcstriders. New Tricks gives an extra Skip Grenade charge and raises the damage of Skips a bit. If that sounds like it would be complementary to your Arcstrider playstyle, then great! If not, feel free to skip it.
Synthoceps
They’re mean, they’re green, and they may have a mind of their own. The Synthoceps are a set of Titan arms whose Biotic Enhancements make a Titan’s favorite activities — punching things and firing Supers — even better. The Enhancements give approximately 50% more melee range intrinsically, but when surrounded by three or more enemies, they gear up and give damage bonuses to melees and Supers. The Synthoceps are much better than they used to be; give them a try.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random piece of Exotic armor for 97 Legendary Shards, along with the Exotic Quest “The Question.”
The Witch Queen DLC added Legendary weapons and armor to Xur’s weekly drops, at 50 Legendary Shards and 1000 Glimmer per item. They are:
- Seventh Seraph SI-2 (Energy Sidearm)
- Gnawing Hunger (Auto Rifle)
- Nature of the Beast (Energy Hand Cannon)
- Seventh Seraph CQC-12 (Energy Shotgun)
- Long Shadow (Sniper Rifle)
