Ice Breaker is one of the best, if not the best sniper rifle for PvE. Black Hammer is a close second, but doesn’t have the always-regenerating ammo utility.

Should I buy it?

If you for whatever reason didn’t pick it up a few weeks ago, buy it now. For 17 SC, it’s one of the best purchases you can make.

We have a complete review for this weapon that we published a few months ago, and it made our Tier 1 PvE list!

If you can’t afford it, then make sure you do the Weekly Heroic Strike on each of your characters, and then combine the Strange Coins in your Vault so that you’ll have enough!

The range & Impact on this sniper rifle is excellent. It makes a perfect secondary to almost any loadout since you never have to worry about ammo. Ice Breaker will almost always be ready to pop off a shot or two.

It is incredible for Nightfall Missions, as it allows you to be patient with infinite ammo.  Solar Burn makes it even more deadly than it already is.

There’s really no true alternative for this weapon, so you definitely should buy it; it’s practical, versatile & powerful. Patience and Time is the other Exotic Sniper, which some prefer in PvP for its stability, recoil and rate of fire.

Ice Breakers major fault is its high recoil, but for PvE it’s basically a non-issue.

Stats Compared to Other

  • Above Average: Range, Impact
  • Below Average: Stability, Rate of Fire

Notable Perks

  • No Backpack – Cannot be reloaded. Regenerates ammo over time.
  • Mulligan – Missing a shot has a chance to return ammo directly to the magazine.
  • Ice Breaker – Ice Breaker’s victims spontaneously combust, dealing damage to others nearby.

Helm of Inmost Light is probably the best Striker Titan Exotic helmet. Its unique perk will grant you the Death from Above and Headstrong talents for Fist of Havoc, allowing you to customize your talent loadout even more, and making your Super that much more powerful.

It’s got an OK stat roll with 97/104 Strength, slightly higher than last time it was sold.

Talents

  • Rain Blows – Increases melee attack speed.
  • Invigoration – Reduces melee cooldown each time you pick up an Orb of Light.
  • Recklessness – Provides Death from Above and Headstrong for Fist of Havoc.

Should I buy it?

This Striker helm is great for PvP. With this helm, you can spec for Transfusion since you’re not getting any health benefits directly from Helm of Inmost Light‘s perks.

The other perks and stats are really built around your melee ability. Picking up an Orb will decrease your melee cooldown, and you also attack faster with melee abilities.

The helm also gives you Strength, further reducing the cooldown time of your melee ability.

Invigoration, while arguably better than Infusion, is still really situational.

The cosmetic effects and perks make this an appealing choice for a Striker. Coming with the House of Wolves, Eternal Warrior has similar perks, but doesn’t appear to be as good.

Crest of Alpha Lupi is most likely a reference to the brightest star in the constellation, Lupus.

The stat roll is decent on this chest with 133/143 Strength, higher than the last time it was sold.

Talents

  • Special Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Special Weapon ammunition you can carry.
  • Hand Cannon Ammo – Increases the amount of Hand Cannon ammunition you can carry.
  • Keeper of the Pack – You revive fallen teammates faster, and they revive you faster. Your Super also spawns additional orbs for teammates

Should I buy it?

If you are a team player in PvP, this chest could swing 3v3 matches in your favor. Of course being able to revive quicker in PvE is beneficial too, especially when you’re pressed for time.

This piece of armor is a subclass-neutral. As with each of the Exotic chests, you’ll get additional ammo for your weapons.

Unfortunately this chest specifically helps out hand cannon users, so that might make it less useful for you if you barely (or never) use hand cannons. As you can see in the video, Timur’s Lash  got an ammo reserve increase of 20.

Keeper of the Pack cuts the revive time by about .6 seconds, allowing you to revive fallen Guardians (or them to revive you) in just 1 second. The additional Orb generation it provides isn’tthe same all the time, but from Gunslinger testing, it produced just 1 extra.

The additional Strength, reducing the melee ability cooldown, seems out of place but with a high enough stat roll it could reduce it significantly.

If you do not play 3v3 PvP, or usually play by yourself in PvE, this isn’t the chest for you. Keeper of the Pack is medic-like and support orientated, so it’ll benefit your teammates more than it’ll benefit you specifically.

For a team player who wants medic-like perks, this helm is worth picking up. This is an ideal helm for 3v3 Crucible, since you will be resurrecting teammates faster.

This helm comes with a pretty hefty amount of Strength: 107/114.

Talents

  • Snap Discharge – Increases melee attack speed.
  • Infusion – Replenishes health each time you pick up an Orb of Light.
  • Keeper of the Pack – You revive fallen teammates faster, and they revive you faster. Your Super also spawns additional orbs for teammates.

Should I buy it?

Light Beyond Nemesis is another subclass-neutral helm.  It shares the Keeper of the Pack perk with Crest of Alpha Lupi, allowing you to really support your teammates. This helm will obviously be most useful in situations where teammates can be revived.

The Keeper of the Pack won’t affect the countdown timer in raids, but it does help when physically standing over someone and holding the revive button.

This helm will give you Strength, which goes well with the increase to melee attack speed. Snap discharge is great to have, allowing you to come out on top in a melee fight, and is the one perk that saves this helm from getting a lower score.

Ultimately this is a decent helm for personal support, but with Infusion and Keeper of the Pack, the perks just are too niche to qualify this helm for general use. It’s worth buying if you know you’ll be in a situation where either of those perks will come in handy.

Of course Infusion will be really beneficial when fighting Crota on hard mode.

Even though Light Beyond Nemesis is subclass-neutral, it’s really outclassed by every other helm, and should be replaced if possible.
