Titan

Empyrean BellicoseEmpyrean Bellicose

Fly like the shadows with the Empyrean Bellicose.

  • Aiming your weapons while in the air will hold you in place for a short time.
  • Orbs collected when your Super is full will recharge your melee ability.

It appears Titans are getting a taste of Angel of Light. Perhaps the Titan in the Dreadnaught footage was rocking this bad boy! At any rate, to hover in mid-air while firing a weapon is both a good and bad thing. It gives you unparalleled vision and an unobstructed FoV, but comes at the cost of protective cover. The second perk, while novel in its design, seems a little situational — we’ve no indication that the Titan melee is going to be any more useful in TTK than it is currently, and holding on to a Super is not always conducive to healthy team or solo play. As for the aesthetic? Full marks. Titans continue to have some of the coolest helms in the game.

Warlock

Alchemist’s RaimentAlchemist's Raiment exotic chest

Reshape the world and turn iron to gold with the Alchemist’s Raiment.

  • Collecting Primary Ammo will give you a chance to gain glimmer.
  • Orbs collected when your Super is full recharge your grenades and melee.

Black as night with a neon insignia, the Raiment is sporting what we might call the first “economy” perk on an Exotic. As you collect Primary Ammo, you’ll have a chance to gain glimmer. While this won’t give you a tactical advantage in competitive play, it certainly will ease the resource strain in the first few weeks of TTK. The second perk is much in the same vein as the Bellicose, granting both Melee and Grenade Energy when picking up an orb. It’s sort of the Army of One to Bellicose’s Grenadier, and is perfect for a Sunsinger who wants to save their Super. This chest will be much more useful if you’re with a fireteam, since you can’t pick up your own Orbs.

Hunter

Sealed Ahamkara GraspsSealed Ahamkara Grasps

These gauntlets are filled with Nightmare Fuel.

  • They will provide you with an additional melee charge.
  • Your melee damage will have a chance to reload your Primary Weapon.

Your enemies will be hacking up a lung, or wondering where you got to, as you Smoke and Blink Strike your way to confusing and avoiding them. The extra charge will be invaluable in tricky PvE encounters when you’re feeling overwhelmed. I wonder if it stacks with Gambler’s Dagger? The second perk is less promising, as reloading a Primary Weapon is almost never an onerous task. What’s more, at that distance, you’ll be erring on the side of Shotgun anyway – and Bungie’s definition of “a chance” has a disappointing history (cough Mulligan).

Weapons

The Chaperonethe chaperone exotic shotgun

  • Fires a single slug shot and grants an Agility boost when equipped.
  • Your precision kills will grant a brief increase to Handling, Range, Rate of Fire, and Stability.

Proving that Bungie does indeed have a sense of humor, the Tex Mechanica Chaperone is poised to out-range every Shotgun in the game; you’ll just have to learn to aim now… As we saw in test footage, it appears that it can’t(?) — or at least has a hard time — kill in one body shot outright, so you’ll need to be extremely precise when pointing it. Fortunately, you’ll have extra Agility to make this easier, and if you manage to get a precision kill with the slug, you’ll proc its second perk. This one gives you bonuses to Handling, Range (!), Rate of Fire, and Stability. Certainly, the Guardian who becomes adept at landing precision kills with the Chaperone will be escorting his or her foes to the grave very shortly.

Telestotelesto exotic fusion rifle

  • This Fusion Rifle will attach projectiles to your foes and detonate with a delayed Void blast.
  • Multikills with this weapon will drop Orbs for your allies.

Needler, anyone? Your very own Void pocket Scorch Cannon, the Reef-flavored Telesto is an innovative new weapon thst just happens to be an Exotic Fusion Rifle. It will fire projectiles that latch on to foes, eventually detonating to do delayed Void damage. You’ll be encouraged to spread the love around, as any muti-kills will spawn orbs for your lucky teammates. Bellicose and Raiment users will appreciate these, no doubt.
