Armsday Guide & Recommendations

Incoming Shipments

Any – Arminius-D

  1. Danger Close | Glass Half Full | Single Point Sling/Speed Reload/Rifled Barrel
  2. Hot Swap | Rangefinder | High Caliber Rounds/Speed Reload/Rifled Barrel
  3.  Crowd Control | Glass Half Full | High Caliber Rounds/Fitted Stock/Rifled Barrel

The package is available again next week, so if you want to experiment, now is the time to take your pick of these…less than savory-looking packages. Try the crazy range on Roll 2.

None – SUROS DIS-47

  1. Perfect Balance/Feather Mag | Rodeo | Lightweight/Injection Mold
  2. High Caliber Rounds/Appended Magazine | Hip Fire | Lightweight/Smallbore
  3. High Caliber Rounds/Oiled Frame | Rodeo | Speed Reload/Smallbore

The DIS-47 has such great potential, so why waste it on these bad rolls this week? Perks like Rodeo and Hip Fire won’t make a big enough difference to make this gun stand out for you, so we’d recommend you wait until next week and try for better rolls.

If you decide to hold onto it, here’s what to look for next week:

Full Auto is great for both PvE and PvP. Hidden Hand is a great perk for PvP, while the likes of Spray and Play and Outlaw dominate the PvE landscape. See if you can also get some more range and stability from Hammer Forged, Perfect Balance or Fitted Stock. Then, look for min/max perks like Hand-Laid Stock for the ultimate roll!

#2Uffern HC4

  1. Zen Moment | Single Point Sling/Rifled Barrel | Rescue Mag/Exhumed
  2. Mulligan | Extend Mag/Reinforced Barrel | Life Support/Eye of The Storm
  3. Mulligan | Lightweight/Injection Mold | Icarus/Eye of the Storm

Omolon Hand Cannons have been disappointing throughout The Taken King, but this week’s roll offers you a few options for both PvE and PvP. For PvP, go with Reinforced Barrel and Eye of the Storm. Both of these perks work to improve range and accuracy, helping make sure your bullets will hit where you want them to hit. As for PvE, Extended Mag and Life Support aren’t bad options. The extra ammo capacity is always convenient for taking out trash mobs, and Life Support might just save you with instant health regeeration in the middle of a boss fight.

Truesight IS is probably the best Sight of those we pulled this week with its strong Target Acquisition.

#1 or #3Strongbow-D

  1. Solar | Close and/or Personal – Kneepads – Flared Magwell | Perfect Balance | Hand-Laid Stock
  2. Arc | Last Resort – Hot Swap – Lightweight | Hand Loaded | Hand Laid Stock
  3. Solar | Crowd Control – Hot Swap – Lightweight | Perfect Balance | Hand-Laid Stock

#1 is decent for PvP and #3 will work for PvE, but there’s too much focus on stability with this week’s choices. Hot Swap makes sure you initial shots stay on target, Crowd Control dishes out a nice damage bump, and Perfect Balance keeps the recoil to a minimum. For the Barrels, Field Choke is the obvious choice, as it bumps Impact (and therefore damage).

If you hold off until next week, the perks you’re looking for include Rifled Barrel for increased range, Accurized Ballistics for more impact and either something to help reloading in PvE or Rangefinder for PvP.

#1Uzume RR4

  1. Void | Performance Bonus – Lightweight/Casket Mag – Zen Moment/Eye of the Storm
  2. Arc | Performance Bonus – Lightweight/Oiled Frame – Replenish/Mulligan
  3. Arc | Army of One – Single Point Sling/Rifled Barrel – Zen Moment/Exhumed

None of the rolls for the Uzume are very good, but at the very least, Roll #1 offers us some ammo efficiency with Performance Bonus and a low-zoom scope. Eye of the Storm may help stay on target while under fire in PvP and Lightweight is a simple bonus to Agility. Make sure you get the low-zoom Faucon SS1 as well as Injection Mold for superior handling.

#2 or #3Aoife Rua-D

  1. Rodeo | Guerilla Fighter | Explosive Rounds / Quickdraw / Appended Mag
  2. Take a Knee | Zen Moment | Explosive Rounds / Snapshot / Braced Frame
  3. Rodeo | Partial Refund | Explosive Rounds / Snapshot / Braced Frame

To round out the disappointing rolls, we’d also recommend you wait on this one and see what next week offers. If you’re not getting Surplus from your Hakke Sniper Rifles, you’re pretty much wasting your time in PvE. This archetype will never outperform a 1000-Yard Stare in PvP, so you’ll need a PvE roll to stand out like Surplus and Spray and Play.

Other Orders

Tuonela SR4

2. Spark IS6/Flash HS4/Impulse MS2 | Replenish | Lightweight/Rifled Barrel | Army of One/Surrounded

I like this roll for the Tuonela. Rifled Barrel should make headshots a breeze at any distance, and Replenish can give you a nice surprise reload when things get crazy. Army of One is…almost but not entirely meaningless. You might get 1 extra grenade toss out of it. Anyway, this is a pretty decent PVP roll for this gun. If you’re looking for PVE, wait for Firefly.

Thesan FR4

  1. Solar | Candle IS2/Torch HS2 | Army of One | Skip Rounds/Braced Frame | Life Support/Exhumed

This is a pretty decent max Stability roll for the Thesan Fusion Rifle. Army of One will give you some melee and grenade energy when you kill people by yourself, the Torch Scope and Braced make your bolts both accurate and tightly grouped. Life Support, meanwhile, procs pretty reliably – and yeah…you’re probably going to get shot a lot when you use this until you get the hang of it. Even then, really.

Cocytus SR4

  1. Spark IS6/Torch HS2/Signal MS5 | Replenish | Extended Mag/Feather Mag | Third Eye/Exhumed

A solid PVP pick for the Cocytus, Torch provides its usual accuracy buff. Replenish gives you a nice surprise reload every now and then but it’s Extended Mag that will really be pushing your ammo count up. Third Eye is fan-flipping-tastic on a long range weapon like this, keeping those sneaky warriors from surprising you. All-in-all, a great roll for the Crucible.

Kumakatok HC4

2. Fastdraw / Quickdraw IS / Sureshot | Zen Moment | Extended Mag / Rifled Barrel | Firefly / Surrounded

If you’ve been looking for a solid all-around roll for this hand cannon for a while, here it is! Sureshot and Zen Moment will keep your shots on target (mostly), and coupled with Rifled Barrel ghost bullets should be at a minimum. Firefly makes the gun useful in PVE, too, where I would normally recommend a slower firing, harder hitting weapon. Plus, you really need to be landing those headshots in PVP, so maybe you’ll get some explosive returns there, too…

Zarinaea-D

  1. GB Iron / SD Thermal | Relentless Tracker | Counterbalance | HCR / Fitted Stock / Rifled Barrel

Nice! Huge Range and Stability on this already solid Auto Rifle make it a great all-purpose weapon, especially for a newer Guardian. I would take the GB Iron for its minimal screen coverage and Handling bonus and Rifled Barrel for its massive Range bump that allows you to kill at all meaningful distances. The gun’s base recoil is a little diagonal, so Counterbalance will straighten it out the rest of the way, and Relentless Tracker is pretty nice anywhere in the game, giving you precise info on your enemies’ whereabouts. Definitely a great roll!

Next Week’s Orders

Weapon Type Impact Notable Stat
SUROS DIS-47 Scout Rifle Lowest AA (74)
Uffern HC4 Hand Cannon Medium-High Stability (70)
Arminius-D Auto Rifle Lowest AA (80)
Lyudmila-D Pulse Rifle Highest Range (63)
SUROS PDX-45 Pulse Rifle Low Reload (90)

SUROS DIS-47

Hopefully we get a bit luckier with some of the rolls next week, especially with a gun that’s so powerful. If you get a good roll on this low-impact Scout Rifle, it can be a monster in both PvE and PvP. It also has good aim assistance, so it has huge potential in the Crucible, but we’ll be hoping for stability buffs to keep its quick shooting on target. We’d highly recommend ordering this gun, because if it rolls with Full Auto next week, you won’t want to miss out on it!

Arminius-D

For this gun, think of a Nechrochasm or Atheon’s Epilogue but with low base stability and high base reload speed. This is the definitive power weapon from Armsday right now, so if you don’t have a package, BUY IT NOW!

Lyudmila-D

Counterbalance is going to be the key, as Hakke Pulse Rifles have an awkward recoil pattern that needs to be corrected for maximum accuracy. It can 2-shot enemies… if you somehow wrangle the recoil down to nothing and land all 8 headshots and they aren’t a max armor Titan or Void Ram-Lock, or anyone with an Overshield. So, not going to recommend this package unless you’re in love with Hakke Pulse Rifles.

Uffern HC4

This Omolon Hand Cannon, along with The Vanity from the Future War Cult, has a unique impact archetype, right below the highest but still higher than the Hawkmoon and Fatebringer. The gun will probably look and feel nice due to Omolon’s design and the base stability of 70. This archetype of Legendary hand cannon kills in 3 shots so long as just one is a headshot. The gun also rewards highly mobile play, as hand cannons have the best mid-air accuracy of any weapon.

SUROS PDX-45

This gun falls in the same impact category as the Crucible Quartermaster’s Hawksaw but with more stability, reload and aim assistance. This is always a must-order for next week. There are a number of perk combinations that will work for this gun, but we’ll also be looking for a good scope.

This high rate of fire Pulse Rifle still deals 25 damage per bullet on a headshot and 17 on a body, making it a very easy 3 burst kill – especially since its native Stability is such that a perkless version is more reliable than many of the A Tier guns.
