Armsday Roll Recommendations

#3 – Gaheris-D

  • Triple Tap, Spray and Play, Reinforced Barrel

This is a great roll for PvE. Triple Tap will give you more ammo over time if you’re able to land consistent headshots, giving you less chance of running out of primary ammo in sticky situations. Spray and Play will allow you the fastest reloads when burning down bosses and taking down mobs of ads. Reinforced Barrel is a required range boost for any Hand Cannon.

None – Kumakatok HC4

Sadly, we don’t have any solid rolls in stock this week for the Kumakatok. If you’re still waiting for that perfect roll, you’ll want to look out for Reinforced Barrel combined with better perks like Luck in the Chamber, Firefly or Outlaw.

#1 – Tamar-D

  • Unflinching, Spray and Play, Snapshot

Despite the lack of Surplus in the mix, we like this roll of the Tamar-D for PvE. Spray and Play, as usual, is the best choice for faster reloads. Unflinching will keep you on track during strike boss fights, and it may come in handy during the Wrath of the Machine raid. Snapshot’s handling bonus is always appreciated, rounding out the roll to a solid PvE choice.

 #3 – Aoife Rua-D

  • Unflinching, Spray and Play, Braced Frame

You’re only going to want one PvE sniper, but the Aoife Rua-D roll we have here is almost a clone of the recommended roll for the Tamar-D this week. The difference here is Braced Frame, which overall helps more than Snapshot in PvE due to the insane stability buff it brings to the table. Better stability will mean less time dragging your scope back to your target, which gives this roll of the Aoife Rua-D an edge over any other roll.

#1 – Uzume RR4

  • Triple Tap, Lightweight, Clown Cartridge

Now that we have a bunch of new content to run through, we’ll be finding ourselves playing at or below recommended light levels a lot. Often times, you’ll want to stay back in PvE to avoid engaging higher light enemies. This roll will give you as much ammo as you can to stay in the back popping heads. Triple Tap and Clown Cartridge consistently award extra bullets, which are a premium resource in this week’s Nightfall Strike and Heroic Strikes. Overall, this is a great roll for PvE.

Notable Rolls

#2 – Arminius-D

  • Last Resort – Counterbalance – Snapshot / Fitted Stock / Braced Frame

This is a really great roll! We’d rather have Crowd Control than Last Resort, but it’s nothing to complain about. Counterbalance + Braced Frame make this weapon, and SC Holo is easily the best scope. The wide field of vision makes the muzzle flash much less problematic, and the extra aim assist is gravy. For those who prefer ranged scopes, LB Assault is a solid choice instead.

#3 – Zarinaea-D

  • Partial Refund – Persistence – High Caliber Rounds / Fitted Stock / Smallbore

Smallbore is really good here, giving you the Range and Stability buffs you need to make this weapon worthwhile. Persistence adds perfect accuracy into the mix, and GA Post is a really easy-to-use sight for my money. Finally, Partial Refund doesn’t suck, as long as you’re putting shots into everyone you see, and balances out the weaknesses of Smallbore.

#2 – PDX-41

  • Hammer Forged / Casket Mag – Rodeo – Speed Reload / Injection Mold

This one’s pretty decent, though it only just makes my list today. Hammer Forged is a handy range bump, counteracting Injection Mold, and Rodeo (we think) makes the recoil easier to control while you’re shooting. There are fans of all of these scopes, but I like the SLO-19 the best because the field of vision is so unobstructed.

#2 – PDX-45

  • Perfect Balance / Oiled Frame – Counterbalance – Single Point Sling / Smallbore

The unflinching nerf makes this a pretty solid choice. More range would be better though (Rifled instead of Smallbore). Is it concretely better than the old Vendor Hawksaw of yesteryear? No, but I’d call it on par. If you don’t have a great PDX-45 or if you have a couple packages, this is one worth owning.

#3 – Thesan FR4

  • Replenish – Accelerated Coils / Hand-Laid Stock – Rangefinder / Surrounded

Torch + Accelerated Coils + Rangefinder gives you an awesome sight, faster charge, and a nice bump to effective range. Don’t worry about Replenish, that slot is mostly useless anyway. If you don’t have a great Fusion Rifle, get one this week!

#2 – ARI-45

  • High Caliber Rounds/Oiled Frame – Lightweight/Smallbore – Take A Knee

I suggest the SLO-19 sight here, for the nice open view it gives. HCR will hit hard and hopefully buy you time to finish off opponents with faster optimal times-to-kill. Smallbore helps with that, and smart use of Take a Knee does, too!

#2 – ARI-41

  • High Caliber Rounds/Casket Mag – Single Point Sling/Rifled Barrel – Persistence

This one’s pretty easy, and wins on the same categories as the 45, above. SLO-19 and HCR are solid choices on autorifles right now. Rifled Barrel hurts reload speed, but the range bump is worth it, and Persistence gives you near-perfect accuracy to help every bullet count.

#1 – DIS-43

  • High Caliber Rounds/Appended Magazine – Hidden Hand – Lightweight/Injection Mold

Here’s yet another HCR roll worth taking today! This time, take your pick of the sights as they all have trade-offs. Hidden hand is not bad, enhancing already high aim assist, and Injection Mold is a nice buff to your Stability and handling, making the gun much easier to use. I’d normally like more Stability, but these scouts are pretty easy to handle. Appended Mag is also a nice option for more more shots between reloads in PVE.

Next Week’s Orders

Weapon Type Impact Notable Stat
SUROS DIS-43 Scout Rifle Medium Range (77)
Thesan FR4 Fusion Rifle High Stability (81)
Lyudmila-D Pulse Rifle Highest Range (63)
SUROS PDX-41 Pulse Rifle Medium Stability (68)
SUROS JLB-42 Launcher Velocity (67)

SUROS DIS-43

This Scout Rifle falls in a Vision of Confluence archetype, and with a magazine size of 19, it should be great for PvE despite its stability issues (base 48). With a range of 77, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a situation where this Scout Rifle isn’t hitting for full damage.

Omolon THESAN FR4

If you’re ever looking out for the perfect fusion rifle, the Thesan FR4 is a must-order. It comes in at 94 Impact and 81 Stability, so you won’t even need to worry about perks. Of course, that doesn’t mean that perks can’t help it; this gun can benefit from range perks, and reload speed is always key in Crucible and Strikes.

Hakke Lyudmila-D

This gun’s rate of fire has been slightly increased to increase its killing power in the Crucible. It has base range of 63 and stability of 54, so we’ll want to preserve the range while increasing stability to laser-like levels, and a reload perk like Feeding Frenzy would be icing on the cake. Counterbalance is going to be the key, as Hakke Pulse Rifles have an awkward recoil pattern that needs to be corrected for maximum accuracy.

SUROS PDX-41

The PDX-41 is a medium rate of fire pulse rifle (think Red Death archetype) with more range than the PDX-45. It has great reload speed, stability and solid aim assistance, so this is a must-order if you want another competitive primary for PvP play!

SUROS JLB-42

Being a Rocket Launcher, we’re going to be most interested in the rolls rather than the stats, but this launcher will offer us the right stats to be competitive in PvE and PvP. With a high blast radius of 84, magazine size of 2 and velocity of 67, the JLB-42 will give you everything you need to hit your targets, and we highly recommend placing an order to try it out next week.
