Armsday Roll Recommendations

#1 or 3 – Zarinaea-D

  • Hot Swap, Persistence, Braced Frame
  • Army of One, Counterbalance, Braced Frame

Simply put, this gun will fire like a beauty. Hot Swap and Persistence will team up to raise accuracy for precise aiming in both PvE and PvP, while Braced Frame’s massive stability boost helps for all types of content. This is a solid pick this week if you want a simple Auto Rifle that shoots smoothly.

#3 – Eirene RR4

  • Triple Tap, Single-Point Sling, Life Support

This is a solid roll for PvE with Triple Tap’s ammo bonus and Life Support’s clutch potential. The Eirene has potential in PvP, but this week’s rolls fall short on that front. If you’re looking for something better, keep an eye out for Clown Cartridge, which will keep your ammo reserves higher in PvP and PvE alike.

None – Aoife Rua-D

Roll #2 boasts Spray and Play as well as Outlaw, but these perks kind of overlap. A lightning-fast reload speed would be nice, but we feel that Surplus would be a great replacement for Outlaw for the extra ammo efficiency. Plus, in PvE, you can’t count on Outlaw’s bonus if you’re spending your time sniping a boss. Check out the Tamar-D’s roll if you want a good PvE Sniper Rifle.

#2 – Jingukogo-D

  • Crowd Control, Rangefinder, Rifled Barrel

While the Hakke Shotguns have never been spectacular, this is a spectacular roll. Crowd Control works great in PvE while Rangefinder and Rifled Barrel give you as much range as possible for PvP. If you need an extra shotgun, go ahead and pick this one up for PvE purposes at the very least.

#1 – Tamar-D

  • Surplus, Spray and Play, Perfect Balance

This is about as good as it gets! Spray and Play gives great reload speed for burning down bosses in strikes in raids, while Surplus will keep your ammo levels high. Add in the stability from Perfect Balance and you’ve got a great PvE Sniper Rifle.

Notable Rolls

#2 – JLB-47

  • Single Point Sling / Speed Reload – Tracking – Perfect Balance / Lightweight

Tracking gets the job done, no question. Just avoid trying to shoot down long corridors and you’ll be okay. Otherwise, I’d go Verniers, SPS, and Lightweight.

#1 – PDX-41

  1. Perfect Balance/Appended Mag | Counterbalance | Snapshot/Rifled Barrel
  2. Fitted Stock/Feather Mag | Take a Knee | Single Point Sling/Smallbore

Roll gives you all the Stabilities and all the Ranges, too. Honestly, I much prefer Smallbore over Rifled Barrel, since we have a healthy Range built right in, but it’ll do. If you want to run SLO-19 but feel like CB is a crutch, Roll 2 also has all the Stabilities, but gives you a very nice accuracy boost when crouching.

#3 – ARI-41

  • Fitted Stock/Appended Magazine – Snapshot/Smallbore – Unflinching

Such stable. Much scope. No flinch. Buy now, yes? Seriously though, this is a very solid and adaptable roll. Fitted Stock would be better as Perfect Balance, but you can swap it for Appended Mag in PVE and take this one anywhere.

#2 – Tuonela SR4

  • Life Support – Quickdraw / Hand-Laid Stock – Zen Moment / Exhumed

A Torch is a beautiful scope. Life Support is fine in a bad perk column, and then you can either grab HLS for perfect Stability, or run Quickdraw with Zen Moment for a solid combination of Handling and recoil control. Exhumed is worthless though.

#3 – Cocytus SR4

  • Icarus – Lightweight / Hand-Laid Stock – Third Eye / Eye of the Storm

We didn’t get Torch, which is too bad, but Candle and Flash aren’t bad. Icarus isn’t totally worthless (and that column basically sucks all over), but Hand Laid Stock is very good and then you have a choice of Third Eye and Eye of the Storm which is literally perfect.

None – PDX-45

  1. HCR/Feather Mag – Unflinching – Snapshot/HLS
  2. HCR/Oiled Frame – Outlaw – Speed Reload/HLS
  3. Perfect Balance/Casket Mag – Unflinching – Speed Reload/Reinforced Barrel

There’s something to like about all three of these rolls, which may tempt you, Guardians. But don’t give in! Hand Laid Stock is a trap, and kills your effective Range (which is bad to begin with). But Reinforced Barrel is also a trap – the base Stability is very good, but not so good that you can afford to give some up!

#2 or 3 – DIS-47

  • HCR/Appended Mag – Full Auto – Single Point Sling/Injection Mold
  • HCR/Casket Mag – Hidden Hand – Snapshot/Injection Mold

I wouldn’t quite call either of these a god roll, but both will do very well in close quarters combat. High Caliber Rounds is very punishing on high rate of fire weapons like this, and your pick of Full Auto or Hidden Hand will let you take full advantage.

Next Week’s Orders

Weapon Type Impact Notable Stat
Zarinaea-D Auto Rifle Medium Reload (65)
SUROS DIS-43 Scout Rifle Medium Range (77)
Gaheris-D Hand Cannon Medium AA (80)
Eirene RR4 Sniper Rifle Highest Reload (57)
Kumakatok HC4 Hand Cannon Medium-Low AA (74)

Zarinaea-D

Repeat! This gun fires as fast as the Zhalo Supercell and sports some balanced stats. With stability of 60, reload speed of 65 and aim assistance of 60, this gun can work if you enjoy the impact archetype. We’ll want some more range next week, but reload speed could also make this gun fun in PvE.

SUROS DIS-43

This Scout Rifle falls in a Vision of Confluence archetype, and with a magazine size of 19, it should be great for PvE despite its stability issues (base 48). With a range of 77, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a situation where this Scout Rifle isn’t hitting for full damage.

Gaheris-D

This Hawkmoon archetype Hand Cannon will need help to fix its 23 base range, but with 80 Aim Assistance, we’re willing to hold out hope that we can make it work. This gun also has decent base stability and a very attractive Recoil Direction stat (something we don’t mention that often unless it’s really high). If you want a balanced Legendary Hand Cannon, this gun can be the answer to your problems as long as you don’t mind the small clip size of 7.

Kumakatok HC4

This is a Down and Doubt 00-0 clone. It has a unique low-impact archetype with decent stability and great aim assistance. Without a range buff, this gun’s 15 range may only be good enough for low-stakes PvE. However, OMOLON offers us plenty of chances for Firefly and Triple Tap, so this gun could definitely shine in Strikes and questing situations.

Eirene RR4

Repeat! With the unique impact archetype that combines the firing rate of a Her Benevolence/1000-Yard Stare with a bit more impact, this sniper can kill revived opponents with head shots in the Crucible as well as add more damage to bosses in PvE. We’ll be praying for the Faucon SS1 Scope for the shortest zoom, but even with a bad scope, this sniper’s high impact rating will warrant usage in the raid as well as Skirmish, Elimination and Salvage.
