Armsday Perk Recommendations (Dec 9-13)

Incoming Shipments

#1 or #3 – Arminius-D | Auto Rifle

  • Partial Refund, Spray and Play, Braced Frame/Speed Reload
  • Relentless Tracker, Rangefinder, Rifled Barrel

Rank #1 has a nice PvE roll with Spray and Play and Braced Frame. Reload speed is always preferred for pouring bullets into bosses, and Braced Frame makes aiming that much easier. You could even go for Speed Reload and have about as good of a reload stat as you could get. Partial Refund is a pretty niche perk, but it can save you some bullets once in a while.

For PvP, Rank #3 gives us the necessary range buffs with Rangefinder and Rifled Barrel. Relentless Tracker is cool, but we could definitely use something else in its place. This archetype of auto rifle doesn’t get much use in PvP, and since the new patch must have not correctly buffed them, you may want to hold off until there’s a roll with range and stability buffs.

#2 or #3 – Zarinaea-D | Auto Rifle

  • Rangefinder, Hot Swap, Hand-Loaded
  • Danger Close, Feeding Frenzy, Fitted Stock

Once again, we have two rolls that fill two different roles. Rank #2’s roll fits well in PvP with range and accuracy buffs. If you often use a sniper, switching to the Zarinaea-D after a body shot will activate Hot Swap, which increases your target acquisition long enough for you to clean up the mess. Rangefinder and Hand-Loaded are solid range buffs, which this gun definitely needs.

Meanwhile, Rank #3’s perks look great for PvE. Danger Close isn’t the best perk, but when enemies surround you in strikes in raids, it can save your life. Feeding Frenzy is one of our favorite perks, as it encourages killing as many enemies as possible to reduce your time to the next clip to kill even more enemies. Fitted Stock is a no-frills stability buff, which rounds out this gun as a great primary for any PvE event.

#1 or #3 – SUROS DIS-43 | Scout Rifle

  • Perfect Balance, Icarus, Injection Mold
  • High-Caliber Rounds, Outlaw, Injection Mold

These are two great rolls for this balanced scout rifle, and there isn’t too much difference between them. Injection Mold is the perfect perk for this gun, because with such a high range stat, we can afford to reduce it to increase the gun’s stability and handling.

If you want higher stability at all costs, pick Rank #1’s roll. Icarus won’t help you in most situations, but Perfect Balance will give you the stability you want. If you’d rather have the reload benefits of Outlaw (great for PvE), go with Rank #3’s roll. You’ll lose out on Perfect Balance for High-Caliber Rounds, but you’ll have a perk that seriously buffs reload speed after precision kills. You can’t really lose this week with either of these rolls.

#2 – Thesan FR4 | Fusion Rifle

  • Hot Swap, Single-Point Sling, Rangefinder

This is one of the best rolls we’ve seen out of this gun. Hot Swap and Single-Point Sling work perfectly together; switch to this gun even faster in an emergency and be rewarded with a buff to accuracy. Plus, aiming down the sights increases range even further, making this gun shred in PvP and PvE alike. The synergy between Hot Swap and Single-Point Sling make this gun a must-have, and the THESAN FR4 in general has one of the greatest stat blends we’ve seen in a fusion rifle.

#1 – Jingukogo-D | Shotgun

  • Final Round, Battle Runner, Rifled Barrel

With this gun’s extremely low range and the recent range nerfs to shotguns, we absolutely MUST choose a range buff to prevent this gun from having such low range that it basically fires backwards. Luckily, not only does Rank #1’s roll offer us Rifled Barrel, but it has two other great perks as well. Final Round is a predictable damage buff for both PvE and PvP, and Battle Runner is an awesome bonus in both PvE and PvP as well.

Next Week’s Orders

Weapon Type Impact Notable Stat
SUROS ARI-41 Auto Rifle Medium Stability (68)
Hakke Zarinaea-D Auto Rifle Low Reload Speed (65)
SUROS PDX-45 Pulse Rifle Medium-Low Reload Speed (90)
Hakke Aoife Rua-D Sniper Medium Aim Assistance (60)
Omolon Uzume RR4 Sniper Low Reload Time (75)

 SUROS ARI-41 | Auto Rifle

This is another Monte Carlo style auto rifle coming in at a whopping 68 base stability. Its range is about as low as we’ve seen at 17 though, so this gun will absolutely depend on range perks to have any use outside of close range PvP. Other than that, it has high Aim Assistance (72) and decent reload speed (54), so we’ll be keeping a close eye on the rolls next week.

SUROS PDX-45 | Pulse Rifle

This gun falls in the same impact category as the Crucible Quartermaster’s Hawksaw but with more stability, reload and aim assistance. This is always a must-order for next week. There are a number of perk combinations that will work for this gun, but we’ll also be looking for a good scope. The gun has 22 base range, so we’ll definitely need a fix, but if we get a good roll next week, you can expect to see this gun everywhere in PvE and PvP alike.

 Aoife Rua-D | Sniper Rifle

The Aoife Rua-D Sniper Rifle has a lower impact equivalent to the Low-Grade Humility and Patience and Time. However, with a base stability of 34, you’ll best be aiming for headshots and not double-taps in the Crucible. Hakke’s scopes are a bit different than the ones offered by the Vanguard and Crucible Quartermasters, so you may have to adapt to a higher zoom and different aiming reticule to use this gun in high-stakes PvP.

 Uzume RR4 | Sniper Rifle

This Sniper Rifle shares the impact/RoF class of the Eye of Sol, but it packs way more base stability at 58. In non-revive game modes, this is a great option for getting quick headshots or double tapping for bodyshot kills. A downside to this gun may be the same as the Aoife Rua-D in that you aren’t as comfortable with non-standard scopes, so this gun may get more immediate use in PvE where the stakes aren’t as high to get quick headshots.
