Armsday Perk Recommendations

Incoming Shipments

#3 – SUROS ARI-41 | Auto Rifle

  • Perfect Balance, Smallbore, Spray and Play

This is a PvE roll all the way. Spray and Play will always be preferred for quicker reloads, and Smallbore and Perfect Balance give boosts to stability and range. This is just an average roll, so if you’re looking for something magical, wait until next week. This gun already has great base stability, so look for extra range perks. Rank #1 has some range perks, but Icarus is just too weak of a perk to warrant usage. Something like Hidden Hand would be much more valuable.

#2 – Thesan FR4 | Fusion Rifle

  • Army of One, Braced Frame, Underdog

Once again, we have an OK roll this one. In PvP, Underdog is actually pretty good. Chances are, while you’re charging a fusion rifle, you’re going to be under fire, so you can usually rely on the extra range and handling bonus. Braced Frame maxes out stability without decreasing range, and Army of One is a great perk for PvE if you feel like using a Fusion Rifle in missions or strikes.

While this gun can be a monster with no perks at all, you may benefit from waiting another week for this package. Either way, it’s on sale if you want to mess around with this roll and have the spare Glimmer. Next week we’re looking for Rangefinder and Hot Swap. Those perks are basically the gold standard for fusion rifles, increasing bolt speed and accuracy more noticeably than any other perks.

#1 – Gaheris-D | Hand Cannon

  • Triple Tap, Zen Moment, Speed Reload/Explosive Rounds

This is a fantastic, balanced roll for PvE. Triple Tap and Zen Moment work hand in hand to encourage precision shots, granting increased ammo and stability as you pop heads. Speed Reload is the kind of no-frills bonus you’d expect from a Hakke weapon, but Explosive Rounds can increase your mob DPS if you’d prefer. Plus, this roll has Sureshot IS, the gold standard in Hand Cannon sights.

This isn’t a spectacular PvP roll, so if you’re itching for a legendary Hand Cannon to use in the Crucible, you’ll need to look for Final Round, Hot Swap and Reinforced Barrel next week.

#1 or #2 – Uffern HC4 | Hand Cannon

  • Grenadier, Quickdraw/Rifled Barrel, Life Support/Danger Close
  • Zen Moment, Quickdraw, Triple Tap

Yet another gun with no great PvP rolls and decent PvE rolls! If you ordered the Gaheris-D along with the Uffern HC4, you basically have a choice between which Hand Cannon you want with Zen Moment and Triple Tap. You don’t want to reduce your magazine size from 7 with Braced Frame, so Quickdraw is a necessary substitute.

This gun has a lot of potential in PvP with the right roll, so if you’re not sure whether it’s worth it to wait until next week, keep in mind that this gun can roll with Luck in the Chamber, Reinforced Barrel and Outlaw! If you see something like that with Sureshot IS next week, you’ve struck gold!

#1 or #3 – Uzume RR4 | Sniper Rifle

  • Luck in the Chamber, Lightweight/Oiled Frame/Clown Cartridge (Void)
  • Luck in the Chamber, Lightweight, Clown Cartridge (Solar)

There are small differences between these rolls, but we’d go for your preferred elemental damage for this choice. The Void roll does offer Oiled Frame, which maxes out reload speed, but otherwise, these snipers are pretty much the same. The Faucon SS1 scope has the preferred short range, Luck in the Chamber adds great damage in PvE and Clown Cartridge gives you a chance to get more ammo on every reload. Overall, these are two great PvE snipers with decent utility in PvP, so it comes down to your choice between Void and Solar damage.

Next Week’s Orders

Weapon Type Impact Notable Stat
SUROS DIS-43 Scout Rifle Medium Range (77)
Thesan FR4 Fusion Rifle High Stability (81)
Herja-D Pulse Rifle Medium Stability (72)
Eirene RR4 Sniper Medium-High Range (76)
Uzume RR4 Sniper Low Reload (75)

SUROS DIS-43

This Scout Rifle falls in a Vision of Confluence archetype, and with a magazine size of 19, it should be great for PvE despite its stability issues (base 48). With a range of 77, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a situation where this Scout Rifle isn’t hitting for full damage.

Omolon THESAN FR4

A must-order every week, but since the rolls this week were average, you’ve probably already got one to hold on to! With 94 Impact and 81 Stability, you won’t even need to worry about perks. Of course, that doesn’t mean that perks can’t help it; this gun can benefit from range perks, and reload speed is always key in the Crucible and Strikes.

Hakke Herja-D

The Herja-D has the impact archetype of the Vanguard’s Apple of Discord. It comes in with a fantastic 72 stability and 68 reload speed, so next week, we’ll be looking for Counterbalance to correct the awkward Hakke recoil pattern and more stability to make it a laser in PvE and PvP.

OMOLON UZUME RR4

This Sniper Rifle shares the impact/RoF class of the Eye of Sol, but it packs way more base stability at 58. In non-revive game modes, this is a great option for getting quick headshots or double tapping for body shot kills. We’ll be looking for something like Triple Tap or Zen Moment for PvE while hoping for a Faucon SS1 low-zoom scope for PvP.

Eirene RR4

This is a sniper we’ll be watching closely next week. With the unique impact archetype that combines the firing rate of a Her Benevolence/1000-Yard Stare with a bit more impact, this sniper can kill revived opponents with head shots in the Crucible as well as add more damage to bosses in PvE. We’ll be praying for the Faucon SS1 Scope for the shortest zoom, but even with a bad scope, this sniper’s high impact rating will warrant usage in the raid as well as Skirmish, Elimination and Salvage.
