#3 – Arminius-D

  1. Last Resort | Spray and Play | Snapshot/Fitted Stock/Braced Frame
  2. Relentless Tracker | Focused Fire | Snapshot/Hand Loaded/Braced Frame
  3. Hot Swap | Spray and Play | Snapshot/Speed Reload/Braced Frame

The Arminius-D has some serious potential in PvP, but for it to have full effectiveness, we’ll need Counterbalance. Wait off on turning in this package until you at least get Counterbalance in your roll. Past that, Hot Swap and Rifled Barrel complete our dream roll for PvP.

As for PvE, you’ll still probably want Counterbalance, but Roll #3 gives you a lot of reload speed to play with due to Spray and Play and Speed Reload. Pick up #3 if you don’t mind the recoil, but wait off if you want the perfect roll.

Braced Frame does give you a great Stability boost and makes this gun very viable, but with so much more competition in the game right now, I really think we need to be patient here and wait.

#2 or #3 – Zarinaea-D

  1. Crowd Control | Focused Fire | Snapshot/Fitted Stock/Braced Frame
  2. Crowd Control | Rodeo | Snapshot/Hand Loaded/Braced Frame
  3.  Army of One | Persistence | Snapshot/Speed Reload/Braced Frame

This is a balanced roll that can work in both PvE and PvP. Persistence and Army of One definitely work better in PvE for when you are able to sustain your fire and take full advantage of the cooldown reduction. Braced Frame will keep you on target with a bonus to stability in any game mode, but if you want extra range, Hand Loaded is there for a small bonus.

I’d go with the LC Assault scope to land shots at a greater distance on more open maps, but GA Post for a wider field of vision on close quarters maps. Crowd Control is probably the best perk in that slot. Rodeo is pretty blah, but you can combine it with Braced Frame for perfect Stability here if that’s your thing.

#1 or #2 – SUROS ARI-41

  1. Hammer Forged / Appended Mag | Snapshot / Smallbore | Hidden Hand
  2. Fitted Stock / Feather Mag | Snapshot / Reinforced Barrel | Persistence
  3. High Caliber Rounds / Appended Mag | Speed Reload / Hand-Laid Stock | Take A Knee

For some people, this is going to be considered a top-tier roll. The range on this gun can’t be beat when you add in Hammer Forged and Smallbore. Then you’ve got Hidden Hand for the ultimate bonus to aim assistance. Pick this up if you ever want to use an Auto Rifle in PvP, as this range will come in handy for keeping the gun viable at any distance.

Roll 2 does work very well with Fitted Stock mitigating Reinforced Barrel’s cost and Persistence pushing up your Accuracy as you fire, but just doesn’t quite stack up to the raw goodness of that first package.

#1 or #3 – Thesan FR4

  • Hot Swap, Snapshot, Eye of the Storm
  • Replenish, Accelerated Coils, Unflinching

#1 is great, but #3 is pure sugar candy! The Torch scope keeps your reticle sticky, Accelerated Coils gives you a slight edge in the charge speed department, and Unflinching helps you ignore the pitiful protests of the enemies you’re about to disintegrate. Replenish has a place in the new Special meta as well – we can’t afford to say no to free ammo these days!

#3 – Gaheris-D

  • Army of One, Feeding Frenzy, Hand-Loaded

After a bunch of PvP rolls, the Gaheris-D comes in with a fantastic roll for PvE! Army of One and Feeding Frenzy go hand in hand for rewarding trash kills. Keep taking out enemies, clearing the battlefield while also resetting your cooldowns and gaining faster reload speeds. Combine these with the range from Hand-Loaded and the recent buff to ammo capacity for Hand Cannons and you’ve got a new PvE favorite!

Rolls from Other Weapons

Suros JLB-42: Roll 1 bar none

  • (Void) Heavy Payload/Speed Reload | Grenades & Horseshoes | Javelin/Snapshot

So Rolls 1 and 3 both dropped with Grenades & Horseshoes this week, but only Roll 1 maximizes your most important stats with both Heavy Payload and Javelin!

Cocytus SR4: Roll 1 for fun

  • Triple Tap | Snapshot / Smallbore | Zen Moment / Eye of the Storm

Roll 1 has everything you need from this gun – the Torch scope to stick your headshots, Triple Tap for free ammo, Snapshot because Snapshot, and Eye of the Storm for precision under fire.

Kumakatok HC4: Your AP or your HP?

  • Luck in the Chamber | Lightweight/Rifled Barrel | Life Support/Surrounded
  • Luck in the Chamber | Snapshot/Rifled Barrel | Rescue Mag/Surrounded

We lucked out and pulled two nearly identical and equally solid rolls for the Kumakatok this week. The only question you need to answer is, do I want free reloads when my health gets low, or do I want faster recovery? Personally, I’d choose the Life Support roll, but you do you!

Suros DIS-43: Roll 1 and done

  • Luck in the Chamber | Hammer Forged / Appended Magazine | Lightweight / Smallbore

Luck in the Chamber, Hammer Forged, Smallbore – do I really need to say any more?

Next Week’s Orders

Weapon Type Impact Notable Stat
SUROS ARI-45 Auto Rifle High Range (48)
Lyudmila-D Pulse Rifle

High Range (63)
SUROS ARI-41 Auto Rifle Medium AA (72)
SUROS PDX-45 Pulse Rifle Low Reload (90)
SUROS JLB-42 Rocket Launcher Blast (84)

SUROS ARI-45

This is a slower rate of fire Auto Rifle with a very balanced, middle-of-the-pack stat blend. Overall, it will need a boost to stability in order to become a reliable Crucible threat, but it’s base 48 range should keep it viable in most engagements.

I’m not sure yet how the middle tier Auto Rifles are going to end up in the new meta, but high Rate of Fire Auto Rifles remain powerful in close range and High Impact Auto Rifles are stepping up to a new level in the mid-range game. They have an ability to cross that border, but in Destiny’s highly mobile and aggressive gameplay it’s often better for a weapon to fit a specific niche than to be adaptable.

SUROS ARI-41

This is another Monte Carlo style auto rifle coming in at a whopping 68 base stability. Its range is about as low as we’ve seen at 17 though, so this gun will absolutely depend on range perks to have any use outside of close range PvP. Other than that, it has high Aim Assistance (72) and decent reload speed (54), so we’ll be keeping a close eye on the rolls next week.

Lyudmila-D

Hakke pulse rifles have taken a hit in recent balancing updates, but this is still Hakke’s highest impact model. With a solid roll, this gun can still do some work in PvP as a legendary primary. It has base range of 63 and stability of 54, so we’ll want to preserve the range while increasing stability to laser-like levels, and a reload perk like Feeding Frenzy would be icing on the cake. Counterbalance is going to be the key, as Hakke Pulse Rifles have an awkward recoil pattern that needs to be corrected for maximum accuracy.

With a perfect Headseeker / Counterbalance / Hand-Laid Stock roll, it has potential to be a devastating 2-burst killer in PVP, where it’s also solid for picking up clean-up kills. And it certainly puts out a major hurting on enemies in PVE as well. That said, it’s very unforgiving, and missing a burst really sets you back.

SUROS PDX-45

This gun falls in the same impact category as the Crucible Quartermaster’s Hawksaw but with more stability, reload and aim assistance. This is always a must-order for next week. There are a number of perk combinations that will work for this gun, but we’ll also be looking for a good scope. The gun has 22 base range, so we’ll definitely need a fix, but if we get a good roll next week, you can expect to see this gun everywhere in PvE and PvP alike.

SUROS JLB-42

Though a bit weaker than the JLB-47, this is still a great Rocket Launcher with excellent stats overall and a solid selection of perks. It’s perfect for Trials, where it earns its A Rating. However, its Inventory score, which determines how many rockets you get from each heavy Ammo brick, is too low to make it a real power weapon outside of that venue, although combining a Rocket Ammo chestpiece and boots can help mitigate that. Perks like Tracking also make it a PVE contender.
