Another week means another weekend, and another weekend means the return of Xur, Agent of the Nine. Xur is hanging out in the Tower this week, hiding in the back of the Hangar. What wares does he bring us this week? Read on.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
Sunshot
Sunshot is an Exotic Solar Hand Cannon. If you didn’t get one during the vanilla campaign, it’s a pretty good pickup. Sunburn, its intrinsic perk, lets the gun fire explosive shots while highlighting enemies that get hit. Sun Blast rewards kills by having killed enemies explode. Grab it if you don’t have it, and make your enemies grossly incandescent.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
Eye of Another World
Speaking of Exotics you can get from campaigns, Xur offers a Void Eye of Another World. This odd-looking Warlock hat highlights critically wounded enemies while also giving 9% cooldown reduction to your abilities. That first ability is fine, but I’d guess if you’re interested in anything, it’s that sweet, sweet CDR. I wouldn’t consider the Eye the highest priority, but grab it if it sounds fun for you.
Aeon Swift
Aeon Swift, along with its companion pieces for the other classes, is bad. If you really, really want them, just take your hunter through Osiris’ campaign; you can get one there. Don’t buy this. You’ll notice I’m not breaking down what the Aeon items do. That’s because they’re trash, and not actually worth talking about. Stay far away.
Dunemarchers
The Dunebois are back again, and they’re still good. Xur has an Arc set for sale this week. Buy them if you didn’t the last couple of times. Linear Actuators give your Titan a faster sprint and chain melee damage to foes close to your original target. Go fast. Punch stuff. It’s as easy as that.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random Exotic piece for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
Weird week for Xur drops. Most of these Exotics can be obtained through campaign quests, so don’t feel too compelled to drop Shards for them. The exception, of course, is the Dunemarchers, which are great, but have been in Xur’s inventory a lot over the past while.
See you next week!
