Best weapon in Destiny? Better than Gjallarhorn? Only in a dream… Why is No Land Beyond a Primary?
Certainly not as exciting as the sniper rifle sold last week (Ice Breaker), No Land Beyond is going to serve a completely different playstyle. Ironically it’s got the exact same stats as Ice Breaker!
You can check out our fully upgraded review for this weapon as well.
Should I Buy It?
No Land Beyond, to put it simply, is a weapon that you’ll need to get used to. You can do well with it, but you can do well with just about any weapon if you’ve got enough skill.
Don’t use it like a sniper rifle and you might not be disappointed.
No Land Beyond is actually fun to use at times. The disconnect you get from a bolt action type rifle in the universe of Destiny is humoring.
You’ll have to work for every kill, but when you finally get into the weapon’s rhythm, it gives you a very rewarding/satisfying feeling. It fortunately does have the second highest Impact out of any sniper rifle (tied with Ice Breaker).
Given you’re skilled enough to master the weapon, you may enjoy using it in PvP. In PvE however, there’s no good reason to use this as your primary weapon.
Pass on this weapon, it’s currently not worth it, but keep in mind that it’ll most likely receive a buff eventually.

Stats Compared to Other
- Above Average: Impact
- Below Average: Stability, Rate of Fire, Reload Speed
Notable Perks
- Mulligan – Missing a shot has a chance to return ammo directly to the magazine.
- The Master – Increased precision damage. Kills briefly increase damage against next target.
[divider]Mk. 44 Stand Asides (Striker)
The first pair of Exotic Titan boots (introduced with The Dark Below) are on sale again. Peregrine Greaves are coming with the House of Wolves.
These boots have a low stat roll of only 112/120 Strength, lower than the last time they were sold.
Perks
- Heavy Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Heavy Weapon ammunition you can carry.
- Be Somewhere Else – Increases the duration Shoulder Charge remains active.
Should I buy it?
The Mk. 44 Stand Asides are an OK choice for any PvP-focused Striker who enjoys getting up close and personal with the enemy.
Often you’ll find that the window for shoulder charge is too short, having to plan your movement around getting that shoulder charge kill. These boots will extend the time it’s available by about 3 seconds, increasing it to 8 seconds from 5.
These will enable you to run a bit longer, and the high Strength will ensure a followup Storm Fist for anyone who somehow lives through your Shoulder Charge.
Use the Transfusion talent to further aid you on the field with health regeneration.
If you’ve got spare Coins, and need a PvP-specific Exotic for your Striker, give these a shot. Keep in mind that if you’ve already got an armor piece that increases heavy weapon ammo, it’s not going to stack with these boots.
We recommend an Exotic helm, chest, or gauntlet.

[divider]Radiant Dance Machines
These boots are specific for a certain type of player. Some may find these helpful if they value quicker movement, but personally, Exotic helms, gauntlets, or chests would be a better option.
These have 137/147 Strength, which is actually a great amount.
In the House of Wolves, Hunters will have access to Unremarkable Bones.
Perks
- Heavy Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Heavy Weapon ammunition you can carry.
- The Dance – You move more quickly while aiming your weapon.
Should I buy it?
The first time these have been sold, Radiant Dance Machines are built around being more mobile while aiming. For a high mobility build, they can be a solid choice for a Hunter that’s trying to avoid crossfire.
While “The Dance” perk won’t give you a substantial increase in speed, it is helpful enough to build around. Combine these with the MIDA Multi-Tool and high agility, and it’ll be like floating on air!
Similar to Mk. 44 Stand Asides, these will increase your heavy ammo as well, so coupling them with a machine gun in PvP will be your best bet.
These boots are for a very niche crowd, and will be most beneficial in the Crucible. Only pick them up if you are looking for a new toy to play with in PvP.
We’ll be doing a fully upgraded review video for both of the Exotic boots soon, be on the lookout for that.

[divider]Starfire Protocol (Sunsinger)
Starfire Protocol was the only Exotic chest that was introduced with The Dark Below expansion. Purifier Robes and The Ram are coming with the House of Wolves, also for the Sunsinger.
We recently reviewed this chest. It’s a great option for a Sunsinger who loves using Fusion grenades.
It’s got 127/137 Intellect, less than last time it was sold.
Perks
- Fusion Rifle Ammo – Increases the amount of Fusion Rifle ammunition you can carry.
- Heavy Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Heavy Weapon ammunition you can carry.
- Starfire Protocol – Gain an additional Fusion Grenade.
Should I buy it?
Starfire Protocol’s main perk will give you an additional fusion grenade, but this does not stack with the Gift of the Sun talent, so you can only hold 2 grenades.
While this does pigeonhole you into taking Fusion grenades, it does free up the Angel of Light or Touch of Flame talent.
Touch of Flame allows your Fusion grenades to always ignite enemies, and in PvP this will help finish off anyone who you failed to stick the grenade to. Double this with Viking Funeral for extra ignite damage.
This chest piece will also increase your fusion rifle ammo and heavy ammo reserves, similar to the Heart of the Praxic Fire.
Forgetting about the increased ammo you can carry, this chest piece is worth buying for the additional Fusion grenade alone, assuming you enjoy using that grenade. The Fusion grenade deals 100 damage in a small blast radius and an additional 65 bonus damage when stuck to a target.
The Intellect on this armor increase the charge rate of Radiance, getting your double Fusion grenades back quicker than they would normally.
For this chest, it comes down to how much you enjoy the Fusion grenades. If you prefer Solar or Firebolt, the Heart of the Praxic Fire or Sunbreakers might be a better Exotic option.
