Eyes up, Guardian; it’s time for this week’s Xur post. Xur apparently missed the opulence of Calus’ shiny golden barge last week, because he’s back on Nessus this week, arsenal in tow. Read on to see what he’s got.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
Cerberus+1
Do you like shooting a lot of bullets? Does looking at the clean lines of Sweet Business make you irrationally angry? Do you believe that four barrels is better than three? If your answer to these questions is “Yes,” “Yep,” or “Definitely,” Xur has the gun for you.
Cerberus+1 is an Exotic Kinetic Auto Rifle with one goal; lay down fire. It does exactly that with its Four-Headed Dog intrinsic perk, which allows the gun to fire wildly from all of its barrels at the same time. This is the first time I can remember Xur having it available, so pick it up if you’re a collector or a fan of spraying ammo.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
Karnstein Amulets
Known to victims of the Mandela Effect as Karnstain Amulets, these Warlock Gauntlets are here to help you stay alive and well. They do this with the Vampire’s Caress Exotic perk, which turns melee kills into heals — both a large one up front, and another over time. They’re very good gloves, so pick them up and start making uncomfortable slurping noises into your mic as you heal up by turning other Guardians to space dust.
Celestial Nighthawk
Celestial Nighthawk is a classic Hunter Helmet that’s remained a good choice since its days in Destiny 1. The fancy hat gives Gunslingers the Hawkeye Hack Exotic Perk, which turns all of their Golden Gun shots into one incredibly powerful shot. This powerful shot, combined with its ability to crit, has made the Nighthawk a staple for endgame content for years. Get it if you don’t have it.
Mask of the Quiet One
Titans this week are treated to an excellent Exotic helmet in the Mask of the Quiet One. Dreaded Visage, its Exotic perk, gives you energy for everything except your Super when you take damage, and Void ability kills trigger health regen. Unless you somehow consistently avoid getting hit, this helmet is a great pickup.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random Exotic piece for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
I’ll keep it simple; Xur brought the heat this week. Every armor piece available is between good and great, and Cerberus+1 (Quadrerberus?) looks like an absolute blast to shoot. Hope you’ve got some Shards handy; Xur is coming for them.
See you next week!
