Greetings, Guardians! Hope you’re having a good weekend. You know who’s always having a good weekend? Xur, Exotic merchant and Agent of the Nine. He’s hanging out in the Tower this time. How are his wares this time out? Read on to find out.
This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:
Arbalest
The Arbalest is an Exotic Kinetic Linear Fusion Rifle, which is definitely a Lot Of Proper Nouns, bit also a really neat niche. Arby carries the Compounding Force perk, giving it more damage to shielded foes. Once you’ve broken the shield, Disruption Break kicks in, weakening the shieldless enemy to Kinetic damage for a couple of seconds. Is it great? No. But it’s a cool niche, and the flavor text is excellent. Give it a try.
And for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur offers:
The Stag
The Stag is a strange Exotic Warlock helmet. Dearly Departed, its Exotic perk, gives you Rift Energy when near death, and leaves a healing Rift around you when you actually die. It’s niche, to be sure, but definitely worth keeping if you like playing late game fashion Destiny or miss the original Ram skull helmet.
Oathkeeper
Do you like Bows? Are you a Hunter? Are you, let’s say, less than stellar at getting perfect Bow charges? If the answer those questions is “Yep,” then Xur has the answer for you: an Oathkeeper. These Gauntlets keep your charge in the sweet spot, no matter how long you hold your draw, thanks to the Adamantine Brace Exotic perk. Grab them if you’re having some issues with your Bow technique or are looking to fake out opponents with your draw time.
ACD/0 Feedback Fence
The ACD/0 Feedback Fence is a set of Exotic Titan arms that angrily shock your enemy when they have the audacity to Melee you. The Fence’s Wrath Conductors charge when you Melee people, building stacks that hit the unlucky person who fistfights you back. They’re solid against swarms of foes in PvE, and you might be able to catch someone off guard in the Crucible with it.
Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random Exotic piece for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.
Also, Xur now has a quest to get an Exotic Cipher! By doing Strikes or winning Crucible or Gambit games, you can unlock a Cipher to access vaulted Exotic gear!
This isn’t Xur’s best week, but it’s a fun week. The Arbalest is a neat Fusion Rifle, The Stag looks neat, Oathkeeper keeps your Bow drawn perfectly to bamboozle people, and the Fence has that great Rasputin aesthetic.
See you next week!
