Fight, Kill, Survive
On Wednesday, May 6th at 11:00am Pacific, Deej (Bungie Community Manager) will host a livestream straight from the studio with Matt Sammons (Bungie Lead Designer), along with community member ProfessorBroman.
They’ll be playing a brand new co-op Arena activity set in the Prison of Elders, where teams of three players can take on waves of increasingly difficult enemies to earn high-level legendary and exotic rewards. You can match-make with other players anytime, or form your own Fireteam to take on higher difficulty challenges with even greater rewards.

Setting
The Prison of Elders is a sprawling complex including interior corridors similar to those aboard a Fallen Ketch, underground sewer systems invaded by the Hive, and large open combat arenas on the surface of Venus.
Gametype
Does appear to be a hoard mode with progression through the prison marked by waves of lesser enemies building to majors/ultras and bosses. Whether it will be winnable or simply a survival model where players are asked to survive as many waves as possible ad infinitum is unknown, though the Twitch stream should answer that question.
It’s unconfirmed whether or not there will be any new modifiers, but we’ll know soon enough.
Enemies
New bosses and standard enemy types not limited to the Fallen!
What will be interesting tactically is if these enemies are interacting within the same space, meaning players would have to juggle multiple enemy types and strategize according to a mixture rare in other Destiny game types.
Gear
In the image below you can see a Titan PoE helmet with long horn-like ridges on either side, the Titan PoE gauntlets, and a Wire Rifle-esque weapon on the Hunter.

New Perks
Unrelated to the trailer, but worth mentioning, DPJ uncovered more of the new House of Wolves weapon perks. These will most likely be found on the Tower vendor weapons.
