None – SUROS ARI-41
- Perfect Balance/Oiled Frame | Single Point Sling/Reinforced Barrel | Private Eye
- Perfect Balance/Casket Mag | Lightweight/Reinforced Barrel | Focused Fire
- Hammer Forged/Oiled Frame | Lightweight/Injection Mold | Rodeo
We’re at the point where being picky is the only way to go, so wait out this package until next week. We’re going to be looking for something more interesting such as Hidden Hand for PvP or Spray and Play for PvE.
#2 – Kumakatok HC4
- Luck in the Chamber, Outlaw, Rifled Barrel
This is one of the few weeks where the unique perk pools of the Omolon Hand Cannons works out perfectly! With Luck in the Chamber and Rifled Barrel, this gun is ready for the Crucible with added range and random bursts of extra damage if you’re willing to set up good shots with a steady hand. Outlaw takes care of your reload speed in both PvE and PvP so long as you shoot for the head.
#2 or 3 – Herja-D
- Glass Half Full, Rangefinder, Hand-laid Stock
- Army of One, Spray and Play, Oiled Frame
#2 is a superb roll for PvP, and #3 for PvE purposes. Oiled Frame and Spray and Play will offer you insane reload speeds, which will be perfect for shredding low level targets and pumping damage into bosses. Army of One will reward most of your kills with cooldown reductions for your abilities, allowing you to use even more devastating grenade and melee combos. Overall, this is a solid option for those who love the feel of Hakke Pulse Rifles.
#3 – JLB-47
- Flared Magwell, Grenades and Horseshoes, Lightweight
Why Flared Magwell and Lightweight? Because they don’t matter! Grenades and Horseshoes is the star here, and everything else is just B-movie material. This launcher will be that much easier to aim in PvE and especially PvP now that your rockets will explode in proximity to any target. Fire away, guardians!
#1 or 3 – Jingukogo-D
- Close and/or Personal, Feeding Frenzy, Hand Loaded
- Crowd Control, Battle Runner, Lightweight
You’re not going to be roasting anyone with the Jingukogo-D in the Crucible, so you might as well commit fully to a PvE-centered roll. Battle Runner and Lightweight will keep you moving at insane speeds after every kill, allowing you to get more shots off before the damage boost of Crowd Control wears off. This could be a very fun playstyle in lower-tier content, but if you’re stepping into the raid, consider shelving this for a Sniper Rifle.

Notable Rolls from Other Weapons
DIS-47
- Perfect Balance/Feather Mag | Counterbalance | Lightweight/Reinforced Barrel
Great stability and range make these an easy pick for me – you’ll be plugging those headshots from everywhere on the map!
ARI-45
- Perfect Balance/Casket Mag-Speed Reload/ Reinforced Barrel-Icarus
Perfect Balance and Reinforced Barrel go together well here, making this a map-crossing auto rifle. Casket Mag shores up your main weakness without doing much harm in the process, but you could use Speed Reload instead.
Zarinaea-D
- Crowd Control – Rangefinder – Snapshot/Fitted Stock/Smallbore
Rangefinder and Smallbore give you solid Range and Stability stats here, and SC Holo + Crowd Control mean you’ll be able to make every shot count. Love it!

Kumakatoc HC4 | Hand Cannon | Medium-Low | AA (74) |

Thesan FR4
PVP Rating: A
The Fusion Rifle’s fusion rifle, Omolon’s Thesan is one of its standout weapons. Statistically near-perfection it kills in 5 bolts even with Accelerated Coils and still has more than 80 Stability – something it’s competitors usually need a perk to compete with. Stability is vital because it controls the grouping of your bolts and makes sure they go where you’re aiming. Remember that Range here controls bolt speed and that these are not hitscan weapons so you may need to lead your target at range.
Kumakatok HC4
PVP Rating: B
A repeat from last week: High Rate of Fire Hand Cannons looks so amazing on paper, but they are just terribly hard to find success with due to the awful “bloom” that affects follow up shots on all hand cannons right now. The Kumakatok can still be effective up close but it’s much too unforgiving for anyone unwilling to dedicate themselves to mastering it.
Lyudmila-D
PVP Rating: B-C
The Lyudmila-D is a very high risk / potentially high reward gun if you can get it’s monster recoil under control. The best way to roll this gun is Headseeker / Counterbalance / Hand-Laid Stock – anything else and give it a pass. If you do get a perfect roll and make sure to never miss, you can land a 2-burst kill with 6/8 headshots if my math is right.
PDX-41
PVP Rating: A
This is a solid, reliable, and easy to use pulse rifle with access to the excellent base stats and perks for which Suros is so well known. It’s a great starting point for newer Guardians experimenting with this weapon-type, but more experienced players will want to upgrade to a PDX-45 for a faster time-to-kill.
Uzume-RR4
PVP Rating: C
This lowest impact Sniper rifle can’t res-snipe on even a minimum Armor guardian in the Crucible, and low damage means it doesn’t particularly stand out as a tool for DPS either – Eirene can get near as much ammo and hits far harder. It does hold the dubious advantage of having very low aim assist however, so if that’s your cup of tea, have at it.
