Incoming Shipments
#1 or #3 – Cocytus SR4 | Scout Rifle
- Triple Tap, Quickdraw, Firefly
- Rescue mag, Extended mag, Eye of the storm/Firefly
Omolon Scout Rifles have perk pools geared heavily towards PvE, and this roll is a perfect example of a great PvE roll. Triple Tap and Firefly make taking out the trash in PvE so much fun! Firefly will cause high-damage explosions on precision kills, and Triple Tap will award you more bullets for chaining precision shots. We would have wanted a stability-increasing perk instead of Rifled Barrel, but instead, we’ll go with Quickdraw to improve weapon handling.
#1 or #3 – Gaheris-D | Hand Cannon
- Triple Tap, Final Round, Speed Reload
- Crowd Control, Feeding Frenzy, Armor-Piercing Rounds
For PvP, Rank #1 is the way to go. Final Round is a very powerful damage buff that you can always predict, but you will have to base your engagements around it for maximum effectiveness. Sureshot IS is the gold standard for sights on a Hand Cannon, buffing Aim Assistance and handling, which you’ll need in the Crucible. Triple Tap and Speed Reload are okay for some extra ammo once in a while and faster reloads, but overall, Final Round is the star here.
Rank #3’s roll is much more decisively better for PvE than #1is for PvP. Crowd Control and Feeding Frenzy work hand in hand for ad management in PvE. The damage bonus from Crowd Control allows you to get quicker kills, and Feeding Frenzy will help ensure you always reload swiftly. We haven’t seen Armor-Piercing Rounds for a while in The Taken King, but they are a great perk for even more ad management in PvE, so we’d recommend running them over Hand-Loaded.
#1 – SUROS JLB-42 | Rocket Launcher
- Single-Point Sling/Flared Magwell, Reactive Reload, Quickdraw
None of the offered rolls this week are any good for the JLB-42, so we’d highly recommend you keep the package and wait until next week to hope for Tracking or Grenades and Horseshoes instead of Reactive Reload. If you insist on picking up this launcher this week, go for Rank #1’s roll. Why? We certainly don’t recommend these perks, but this launcher has Arc damage, which is hard to come by, so it could find some use in PvE considering how rare Arc rocket launchers are. Regardless, we think this isn’t enough of a reason to turn in this package, so wait until next week!
#3 – SUROS JLB-47 | Rocket Launcher
- Single-Point Sling/Speed Reload, Grenades and Horseshoes, Javelin
Rank #3’s roll is the only competitive rocket launcher to choose from this week. Grenades and Horseshoes is the ultimate perk for PvP and highly useful in PvE, allowing you to use your rockets like lasers and hit opponents around corners. Single-Point Sling and Speed Reload can save you time in different situations, and Javelin helps the rockets be even more decisively fast. These perks, combined with the JLB-47’s solid stats, will make for a great rocket launcher.
#2 – Uzume RR4 | Sniper Rifle
- Grenadier, Quickdraw, Clown Cartridge
Here is a great PvP roll for the Uzume that also has use in PvE. Clown Cartridge is the star here, giving you a chance to score a free bullet every time you reload. This can come in handy in any ammo-scarce activity, including raids and snipe-heavy Crucible matches. Grenadier comes in handy in both PvE and PvP for reducing grenade cooldowns, while Quickdraw’s handling buff plus the low-zoom Faucon SS1 scope set you up for competitive PvP.

Next Week’s Orders
Weapon | Type | Impact | Notable Stat |
SUROS PDX-41 | Pulse Rifle | Mid | Stability (68) |
Strongbow-D | Shotgun | Low | Stability (56) |
SUROS JLB-47 | Rocket Launcher | Medium | Velocity (74) |
SUROS JLB-42 | Rocket Launcher | Medium | Velocity (67) |
Tamar-D | Sniper | Medium | AA (65) |
SUROS PDX-41
Here we have a gun that almost no one uses, because it’s never been offered for order from the Gunsmith. No, this isn’t the fast-firing PDX-45! The PDX-41 is actually a medium rate of fire pulse rifle (think Red Death archetype) with more range than the PDX-45. It still has great reload speed, stability and solid aim assistance, so this is a must-order if you want another competitive primary for PvP play!
Strongbow-D
This shotgun is no different than the Dead Orbit’s Patch-A, the Crucible Quartermaster’s The Next Big Thing or the test shotguns we’ve been using week to week. Basically, this shotgun is a low-impact, high rate of fire archetype that won’t be preferred in PvP but can work in PvE. With Full Auto, it’s finding a niche in Crucible by emphasizing a higher rate of fire than the normal high-impact shotgun.
SUROS JLB-47
Being a Rocket Launcher, we’re going to be most interested in the rolls rather than the stats, but this launcher will offer us the right stats to be competitive in PvE and PvP. With a high blast radius of 84, magazine size of 2 and velocity of 74, the JLB-47 will give you everything you need to hit your targets, and we highly recommend placing an order to try it out next week.
SUROS JLB-42
This feels familiar, no? For the second week in a row, the Gunsmith is offering both SUROS rocket launchers. If you followed our advice on last week’s order, you are probably going to save yourself some money and keep the package to wait until next week for a better roll. Either way, if you have to choose one launcher, choose the JLB-47, as it has higher stats.
Tamar-D
The Tamar-D has equivalent Impact to the Low-Grade Humility and Patience and Time. However, with a base stability of 36, you’ll best be aiming for headshots and not double-taps. If you like sniping in PvE, order one of these! Hakke snipers can roll with Surplus, which really helps with ammo scarcity in PvE. Hakke’s scopes are a bit different than the ones offered by the Vanguard and Crucible Quartermasters, so you may have to adapt to use this gun in high-stakes PvP.
