Weapon
The Last Word
The Last Word, even right out of the box, is still fun to use.
Should I buy it?
We have a video review of this weapon here (a more in-depth review for it coming later this month), and it made our Top 5 Exotics list!
The recoil is low on this weapon once it’s upgraded, and because it’s got the passive Fan Fire perk, you’ll take down your enemies before they have a chance to react! Its unique upgrade will also increase the precision damage done on targets when firing from the hip.
While The Last Word is still great for PvE (not as good as the Hawkmoon), this weapon completely dominates in PvP if used properly. It’s got a distinct sound, unique spin after melee, and the Impact & rate of fire are excellent!
It goes without saying that if you enjoy hand cannons, buy this weapon! Keep in mind that many people will have this weapon now, so don’t get discouraged in the Crucible!

Stats Compared to Other Hand Cannons
- Above Average: Rate of Fire, Reload speed
- Below Average: Range
Notable Talents
- Hip Fire – This weapon has bonus accuracy while firing from the hip, cutting “bloom” by 33%
- Last Word – Bonus damage and stability. Extra precision damage when firing from the hip.
- Fan Fire – Weapon can be fired quickly and continuously.

The Armamentarium
The Armamentarium has perks mostly centered around carrying more, which is extremely versatile. This armor is built for those Titans who love to deal heavy damage.
An additional grenade, with more heavy and special ammo means you’re a walking armory, ready to throw some serious punches.
This week it comes with very generous 138 Discipline, which is more than what he’s sold before!
Crest of Alpha Lupi, the other Exotic Titan chest, is similar in that it doesn’t provide any subclass specific upgrades.
Talents
- Special Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Special ammo you can carry.
- Heavy Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Heavy ammo you can carry.
- Grenade Booster – Carry an additional grenade.
Should I buy it?
A second grenade is so very useful in any and all situations. Even if you prefer your primary weapon, and might just capitalize on 1/3 of its perks, it’s still going to be a worthwhile investment.
This is the ultimate Titan’s chest piece. If you’re not using your heavy and special weapon a lot, you should still buy this for its high discipline and additional grenade!
Alternatives
- Vanguard Marks: Armada Type 3, Monitor Type 2
- Crucible Marks: DURGA-GNT Type 0, Raku Crucible Type
[divider]Chest of Alpha Lupi
The Crest of Alpha Lupi is 1 of two Exotic Hunter chest pieces. The perks for this chest aren’t great, but for people who use their special weapon a lot and/or hand cannons, it’s going to be very useful indeed. The increased revival speed is significant and great for PvE or 3v3.
Talents
- Special Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Special Weapon ammunition you can carry.
- Hand Cannon Ammo – Increases the amount of Hand Cannon ammunition you can carry.
- Keeper of the Pack – You revive fallen teammates faster, and they revive you faster. Your Super also spawns additional orbs for teammates.
Should I buy it?
If you are a team player in PvP, this is the chest piece for you. Helping you revive people faster could swing 3v3 matches in your favor, and more special weapon and hand cannon ammo will obviously come in handy if you use those regularly.
This chest has 132 Strength, which is higher than the previous weeks its been sold.
Unless you’d rather wait for the Lucky Raspberry, or don’t think the perks would benefit your playstyle, buy it. If you do not play 3v3 PvP, or mostly stick to PvE, just save your coins for Lucky Raspberry or an Exotic helm.
Alternatives
- Vanguard Marks: Dustwalker, Ghost Angel
- Crucible Marks: AOS#Cryptid, H_LD Starwinder

Voidfang Vestments (Voidwalker)
The Warlocks only have 2 Exotic chest options too. Soon there will be at least 1 more, that being the Starfire Protocol (see: expansion content). Voidfang Vestments is the only Voidwalker-specific chest, making it very valuable indeed. It’s a great choice for PvP.
Talents
- Hand Cannon Ammo – Increases the amount of Hand Cannon ammunition you can carry.
- Special Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Special Weapon ammunition you can carry.
- Improved Axion Bolt – Your Axion Bolt grenade spawns an additional seeker. Respawn with full grenade energy.
Should I buy it?
Voidwalkers rejoice! This makes your Axion Bolt grenades really fast which means more consistent kills! Add in the fact that you now spawn with grenade energy, and you turn into a grenade throwing machine only rivaled by your Sun-filled brethren.
This chest would work for the Sunsinger as well, because with the Gift of the Sun talent, it will spawn you with 2 grenades.
The Strength on this chest this week is only 115, which isn’t all that great, but it is higher than week #5 & 7.
This is a good option if you’re a Voidwalker, especially if you use hand cannons, considering that Skull of Dire Ahamkara is basically the only other Voidwalker-specific armor piece right now.
Along with spawning with full grenade energy, the Strength stat will reduce your melee cooldown time, making it an all around great choice – probably a better choice for PvP than PvE though.
