[divider]SUROS Regime
Not necessarily as strong as before, its still an incredibly balanced weapon and is often seen in the Crucible because of its high stability.
Check out how we place it in our PvP and PvE Exotic tier list.
Should I buy it?
Yes, at least for PvP. In PvE the damage reduction from the latest patch doesn’t make it an optimal choice, but in the Crucible it’s still a force to be reckoned with.
It does have decent utility in Crota’s End HM if you don’t have something else to regenerate health.
Our review was published many months before the AR nerf, but check it out if you’d like to get a feel for the weapon before buying it. We will update the text review very soon.

- Vanguard Marks: Up For Anything
- Crucible Marks: For The People
Stats Compared to Other
- Above Average: Stability, Impact, Range
- Below Average: Reload Speed
Notable Perks
- Focused Fire: When zoomed, this weapon fires slower, but causes additional damage.
- SUROS Regime: The bottom half of each magazine deals bonus damage and has a chance to return health when dealing damage.
[divider]The Armamentarium
There’s no short of good things we can say about this subclass-neutral chest, we ranked it high in both or PvP and PvE tier list.
Unfortunately it’s got a below average 114/122 Discipline roll, while the max is 170.
Talents
- Special Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Special Weapon ammunition you can carry.
- Heavy Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Heavy Weapon ammunition you can carry.
- Grenade Booster – Carry an additional grenade.
Should I buy it?
“Armamentarium” means “the medicines, equipment, and techniques available to a medical practitioner.” The chest is the equipment, and you’re the ‘medical’ Titan, prescribing grenades for your enemies. In short: buy it.
The Armamentarium has perks mostly centered around carrying more, which is extremely versatile. This armor is built for those Titans who love to deal heavy damage.
An additional grenade, with more heavy and special ammo (about 40% more) means you’re a walking armory, ready to throw some serious punches.
The perks are so great because they don’t limit you to a specific secondary weapon or particular grenade type, while giving the added bonus of holding more heavy ammo.
The double grenade feature is especially beneficial to the Striker since they can crowd control with the AoE Pulse or Lightning Grenades and disorient enemies with the Flashbang.
[divider]ATS/8 ARACHNID
Its key ability will enhance the zoom of your Golden Gun, allowing you to get more precision shots.
The Golden Gun does more damage with precision shots, so this helm may help you take advantage of that.
This helmet has 66/72 Discipline and 62/67 Strength, both excellent rolls.
Talents
- Light the Blade – Causing damage with a grenade reduces your melee cooldown.
- Ashes to Asset – Replenish Super energy when you kill an enemy with a grenade.
- Arachnid Sensorium – Your Golden Gun zooms in for accuracy when aimed.
Should I buy it?
The Golden Gun is already accurate when aiming down sights, and the enhanced zoom from the ATS/8 ARACHNID cuts down your field of view further, and isn’t really necessary or useful in most situations.
The other perks on the helm work very well, revolving around your grenades, allowing you to use your Super and melee ability more often.
Unfortunately the enhanced zoom very lackluster and provides no real benefit. Only use this if you’re going to accurately use your grenades liberally, or actually think the zoom is helpful.
Because this helm increases the Golden Gun zoom, don’t use the Over the Horizon and Deadeye talents.
[divider]Starfire Protocol
Starfire Protocol was the only Exotic chest that was introduced with The Dark Below expansion, and we haven’t seen in a few months.
It has a decent roll of 133/143 Intellect.
Talents
- Fusion Rifle Ammo – Increases the amount of Fusion Rifle ammunition you can carry.
- Heavy Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Heavy Weapon ammunition you can carry.
- Starfire Protocol – Gain an additional Fusion Grenade.
Should I buy it?
Its main perk will give you an additional fusion grenade, but this does not stack with the Gift of the Sun talent, so you can only hold 2 grenades. While this does pigeonhole you into taking Fusion grenades, it does free up the Angel of Light or Touch of Flame talent.
Touch of Flame allows your Fusion grenades to always ignite enemies, and in PvP this will help finish off anyone who you failed to stick the grenade to. Double this with Viking Funeral for extra ignite damage!
This chest piece will also increase your fusion rifle ammo and heavy ammo reserves, similar to the Heart of the Praxic Fire.
The Intellect on this armor increases the charge rate of Radiance, getting your double Fusion grenades back quicker than they would normally.
Whether you should buy it or not comes down to how much you enjoy the Fusion grenades.
