Weapon Review
Super Good Advice is an Exotic heavy machine gun given as a reward from competing the (extremely easy) A Voice in the Wilderness Exotic Bounty. It’s an extremely fast firing LMG that has the ability to return missed rounds right to the magazine, though with how many shots you’ll likely be missing, it’s basically an essential perk.
The Super Good
This weapon hits pretty hard and has a very quick rate of fire. The Super Good Advice ability that returns rounds to the magazine actually triggers at a decently high rate, and you’ll want to make sure that’s enabled as soon as possible.
The Super Bad
The most glaring, and unfortunate problem that this gun has, is its extremely erratic recoil that makes sustained fire very difficult. Burst firing for 1-2 seconds is the best way to counteract this, but it still makes the weapon almost unusable. Even with with the stability upgraded to the maximum, the weapon is simply too unpredictable to justify equipping it.
The recoil is slightly easier to manage if you fire from the hip, but then the range is too limited for most encounters.
The perks also work against you. The reload time is pretty slow, and it has a fast rate of fire so if you somehow manage to land all of your shots, you will be stuck reloading for a while. You can upgrade the reload speed, but at the cost of range.
Cosmetics
The weapon has a simple and clean look to it, not quite unique in any particular way. Its color scheme might remind you of some of the New Monarchy weapons. The sound probably will be the only reason you’ll want to use it; It’s got a wonderfully crisp shot that makes it really easy to count rounds in a burst.
Its personality described via Grimoire:
Engineers decry the idea that all smart systems spontaneously develop personalities and awareness…but it seems undeniable that Super Good Advice manifests personality, memory, and a certain sass. The truth may lie in the weapon’s connection to the legendary Hunter Pahanin, who witnessed the fall of Kabr and became terrified of traveling alone.
Conclusion
This weapon just doesn’t live up to its Exotic status, and doesn’t even feel unique, aside from the ability that returns rounds to the magazine. Using the Exotic Thunderlord, or almost any other Legendary heavy machine gun, would be better than wasting your Exotic slot with this shaky weapon.
Perhaps it will get a buff in the future, but in its current state, Super Good Advice gets a 3/10.
