MIDA Multi-Toolmida multi tool exotic

This weapon keeps true to its name, in that it is a weapon that can be used in almost every situation. Its perks allow you to customize it to your playstyle, and overall it’s pretty fun to use.

We have a text+video review for this weapon if you’d like to know more about it.

Should I buy it?

It’s got a high fire rate, healthy magazine size, is very responsive, and it’s really designed to fill a high mobility playstyle.

Since this gun can do everything well, it doesn’t excel at any particular task. This gun really feels like it was designed for PvP over PvE; it’s usefulness is questionable compared to some other Exotics.

It can easily fit into anyone’s loadout and be used successfully. It’s a fun gun to use, and for those that love scout rifles, it is easily one of the best choices out there. Buy it.

Stats Compared to Other Scout Rifles

  • Above Average: Rate of Fire, Reload speed
  • Below Average: Range, Impact

Notable Talents

  • Third eye – Radar stays active while aiming down this weapon’s sights.
  • MIDA Multi-Tool – This weapon boosts move speed and fires on a hair trigger.

No Backup Plans (Defender)no backup plans exotic

Until The Dark Below is released, these are the only gauntlets that Titan’s have available to them. You’ll have access to Ruin Wings with the first expansion.

  • Special Weapon Loader – Increases the reload speed of all Special Weapons.
  • Rain Blows – Increases melee attack speed.
  • Improved Disintegrate – Increases the duration of Force Barrier.

Should I buy it?

Everyone knows Titan’s like to punch things, and the quicker you can do that, the better. Your melee strikes can fortify you with a Force Barrier, giving you extra durability in combat.

With the 81 Strength these give you, you’ll get a boost to durability; with the increased chances to trigger Force Barrier, you can greatly improve your staying power in combat.

These perks are useful in PvE as well as PvP. If you’re a Defender, and don’t have any Defender-specific Exotics (such as Helm of Saint-14), then pick these up.

Again, each class only has 1 pair of gauntlets until The Dark Below is released. These are specifically meant for the Gunslinger’s. Ahamkara bones are powerful… but these gauntlets aren’t.

  • Special Weapon Loader – Increases the reload speed of all Special Weapons.
  • Ashes to Asset – Replenish Super energy when you kill an enemy with a grenade.
  • Improved Tripmine Grenade – Tripmine grenades last longer when placed.

Should I buy it?

Unfortunately these look great, but probably aren’t going to be worth picking up.

These perks are OK, but they’re very situational, and definitely aren’t as good as some of the other Hunter Exotics. It’s got a decent stat roll of 88 Discipline, which will give you more frequent access to your grenades.

The Tripmine is only going to last for an additional 30 seconds, and it’s unlikely to ever really benefit you.

It’s recommended that you wait for an Exotic helm such as Knucklehead Radar – something you can use with both subclasses, that’ll help you get to level 30, which arguably has better perks.

Go ahead and test your luck with the Exotic Helm engram, and maybe you’ll get lucky!

The Warlocks currently have 2 Exotic chest options, and this one is great for Voidwalkers who PvP a lot. The Dark Below will introduce the Starfire Protocol (see: expansion content).

  • Hand Cannon Ammo – Increases the amount of Hand Cannon ammunition you can carry.
  • Special Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Special Weapon ammunition you can carry.
  • Improved Axion Bolt – Your Axion Bolt grenade spawns an additional seeker. Respawn with full grenade energy.

Should I buy it?

You probably already have this… seeing how it’s been sold more than Sunbreakers!

The Improved Axion Bolt perk will buff your grenades, which means more consistent kills. Add in the fact that you now spawn with grenade energy, and you turn into a grenade throwing nightmare for your enemies.

This chest would work for the Sunsinger as well, because with the Gift of the Sun talent, it will spawn you with 2 grenades.

It’s only got 116 Strength this week, which isn’t great, but it is higher than week 5, 7 & 11.

This is a good option if you’re a Voidwalker, especially if you use hand cannons, considering that Skull of Dire Ahamkara is basically the only other Voidwalker-specific armor piece right now.

Along with spawning with full grenade energy, the Strength stat will reduce your melee cooldown time, making it an all around great choice – probably a better choice for PvP than PvE though.
