Xur Location and Inventory | 1/31-2/2

Welcome back! This week, our intrepid Xurspotting adventurers have discovered him on Io, near the Giant’s Scar. Let’s see what he’s brought for us.

This week, for 29 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:

The Fighting Lion

To be honest, I don’t have much to say about this niche Grenade Launcher that wasn’t said last time Xur brought it, so it’s time for a block quote!

Xur’s weapon this week is the Exotic Grenade Launcher, The Fighting Lion. It’s a strange one, but if you take some time to learn its intricacies, you may well be rewarded for your efforts. The Lion’s Exotic perk, Delayed Gratification, allows you to bounce shots off of surfaces, only exploding when you release the trigger. Pair that with Thin the Herd, which rewards direct hits with extra shield damage and Primary Ammo on kill, and you’ve got a fun, if niche, weapon.

Me, a couple of weeks ago

This week, for 23 Legendary Shards, Xur carries:

Starfire Protocol

What a cool name for such a meh Warlock chest piece. The Starfire Protocol allows Dawnblade Warlocks to have another Fusion Grenade and get Rift energy on Fusion Grenade kills with its intrinsic Fusion Harness perk. Cool if you like Dawnblades or Fusion Grenades, I suppose, but that’s a small niche. But in case you need a Void one, Xur’s got you covered.

Lucky Pants

Oh boy, Xur must have had some extra stock from earlier this month; the Void Lucky Pants have returned! I’ll keep this simple. Don’t get these. You could have had them a long time ago, and you probably didn’t take them then, either. Illegally Modded Holster isn’t really worth your, my, or anyone’s time.

Peregrine Greaves

Oh boy, Xur actually brought something this week! The Peregrine Greaves let you be a big, heavily-armored bird of prey with their Exotic perk, Peregrine Strike. The Strike gives you bonus damage when using Shoulder Charge abilities in the air, and I’m told the bonus damage is pretty significant. Pick up an Arc set from Xur, practice your bird noises, and crack some skulls with a flying knee.

Xur also carries an Exotic Engram, providing a random Exotic piece for 97 Legendary Shards, the Five of Swords for Nightfalls, and The Invitation of the Nine for 9 Legendary Shards, if you haven’t completed that quest yet.

I’ll be the first one to admit that Xur didn’t really bring the heat this week, with the exception of those Peregrine Greaves. We can’t always win with The Nine; sometimes they really think we need those Lucky Pants. Ugh.

See you next week!
