Thunderlord is truly the king of machine guns and is the perfect weapon for tearing through enemies with minimal downtime. Its name is only matched by the percussive sound of each shot rattling through the battlefield.

Its position as a heavy weapon makes it less than ideal as the weapon to take up your Exotic slot, and you won’t want to keep it equipped until you really need it, but when that time comes you won’t be disappointed.

This weapon is also set to be updated with The Taken King as well, so its Attack level will be increased to 280 and may also get new perks.

It offers the simple gift of Unstoppable, and if that’s not enough, you also get to wear the head of a statue – so, you know, there’s that!

The 72 Intellect and 57 Discipline roll is above average, since they both max out at 77.

Talents

  • Inverse Shadow: Increased Super energy gained from killing minions of the Darkness.
  • Infusion: Replenishes health each time you pick up an Orb of Light.
  • Resolute: Provides Unstoppable for Fist of Havoc.

Should I buy it?

Stony-faced and inscrutable, the Eternal Warrior is a top Tier 3 PvE Exotic, but falls a little short of Tier 2 for a couple of reasons. While the INT/DISC split and Inverse Shadow are absolutely ideal, and Infusion an occasional boon when the situation is grim, the Exotic perk is too dull. It provides Unstoppable for Fist of Havoc, which then allows you to select either Shoulder Charge or Juggernaut. The former is fun, but not optimal, and the latter is poorly-designed, forcing you to sprint towards danger in order to be useful.

In PvP, the Warrior overachieves just to scrape a Tier 2. Essentially, both Unstoppable and Shoulder Charge are much more helpful in the Crucible. Shoulder Charge is the only melee (aside from Flame Shield) that will dispatch an opposing Guardian in one hit – and the cause of much consternation in anyone unlucky enough to be smacked by it. Unstoppable is the answer to Felwinter’s, Matador, Judgment, and Party Crasher, letting you stomach a face full of buckshot and still power through to drop your Fist of Panic Havoc for those crucial kills.

This is a helm that every Bladedancer should own. Mask of the Third Man‘s unique ability is reduces the amount of Super energy used when attacking with Arc Blade. Couple this helm with the Encore talent for even more time with the Arc Blade.

The 97/102 Intellect roll is below average, maxing out at 137.

Talents

  • Infusion – Replenishes health each time you pick up an Orb of Light.
  • Switchblade – Increases melee attack speed.
  • Unstable Current – Arc Blade attacks use less super energy.

Should I buy it?

If there are encounters that have swarms of enemies, like the first phase of Templar or the lamps in Crota’s End, you can easily double or triple the amount of time you’re able to use Arc Blade.

In PvP, Mask of the Third Man will allow for a bit more of an extension as well, since every kill won’t be using up as much energy.

Mask of the Third Man, being the only Exotic helm that’s specific to the Bladedancer, is a great choice if you enjoy that subclass. You’re going to always make use out of the Switchblade perk since you’ll undoubtedly be using your melee a lot.

Starfire Protocol’s main perk will give you an additional fusion grenade, but this does not stack with the Gift of the Sun talent, so you can only hold 2 grenades.

It’s got pitifully low roll of 123/130 Intellect.

Talents

  • Fusion Rifle Ammo – Increases the amount of Fusion Rifle ammunition you can carry.
  • Heavy Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Heavy Weapon ammunition you can carry.
  • Starfire Protocol – Gain an additional Fusion Grenade.

Should I buy it?

This isn’t a bad Exotic to have, as Touch of Flame allows your Fusion grenades to always ignite enemies, and in PvP this will help finish off anyone who you failed to stick the grenade to. Double this with Viking Funeral for extra ignite damage!

This chest piece will also increase your fusion rifle ammo and heavy ammo reserves, similar to the Heart of the Praxic Fire.

Forgetting about the increased ammo you can carry, this chest piece is worth buying for the additional Fusion grenade alone, assuming you enjoy using that grenade. The Fusion grenade deals 100 damage in a small blast radius and an additional 65 bonus damage when stuck to a target.

The Intellect on this armor increase the charge rate of Radiance, getting your double Fusion grenades back quicker than they would normally.
