It might be fun to use, and has its upsides, but all-in-all you’d be better served with another Exotic. Check out our full review.

Check out how we place it in our PvP and PvE Exotic tier list.

Should I buy it?

Hard Light has a very interesting effect on its wielder. It quickly grows on you, and is deadly in PvP once you’re able to master it, but almost worthless for PvE.

Glass Half Full is a drop in the bucket at best, while its ballistics and third row perks are barely enough to patch it to the standards set by its Legendary counterparts. It has a minute niche of suppressing fire with its large magazine Size and fast reload, but this is hardly enough to compensate for its shortcomings.

Volatile Light is a neat idea with very little practical application, and the “coolness” factor of the weapon is almost a slap in the face for how little it has to actually offer.

It would benefit greatly from more Impact or a non-Kinetic damage type (such as Arc damage). Hopefully Bungie will give auto rifles the needed-attention they need come HoW, and this will be a much more viable option.

Stats Compared to Other ARs

  • Above Average: Rate of Fire, Range, Stability, Reload Speed (fast!)
  • Below Average: Impact

Notable Perks

  • Glass Half Full: The bottom half of each magazine causes additional damage.
  • Volatile Light: Rounds fired from this weapon overpenetrate targets and ricochet on hard surfaces.

Hardly useful in PvP, but perfect in PvE when you want to get more use out of your heavy weapons. These ranked in tier 1 for our Titan Exotic PvE list.

These have a decent 94/101 Strength roll, while the max is about 113.

Talents

  • Special Weapon Loader – Increases the reload speed of all Special Weapons.
  • Impact Induction – Causing damage with a melee reduces your grenade cooldown.
  • Seeds of Ruin – Heavy ammo drops more often, and contains more ammo in each drop.

Should I buy it?

Absolutely pick these up for PvE use! The pure Strength and Impact Induction is practically irrelevant when compared to the potential devastation that Seeds of Ruin offers.

This Exotic perk acts as a universal “Surplus” for any Heavy Weapon, while offering the added benefit of stacking with any Surplus perk you happen to have.

If that weren’t enough, it also increases the drop rate for the best ammo of all. We don’t need to tell you how easy this can make encounters, and if you haven’t experienced the joy of near-unlimited Rockets, it’s time give Ruin Wings a shot. You won’t ever stop firing.

Another set of gauntlets that are perfect for PvE content. Be sure to pick up an Exotic Gauntlet Engram before buying these, as you may just get these in the Engram.

These unfortunately have a poor roll at only 76/81 Discipline, while the max can reach up to 113.

Talents

  • Special Weapon Loader – Increases the reload speed of all Special Weapons.
  • Inverse Shadow – Increased Super energy gained from killing minions of the Darkness.
  • Defensive Reflex – Taking damage from a melee attack makes you briefly invisible.

Should I buy it?

Don’t Touch Me are PvE-focused gauntlets that are subclass neutral. While these technically aren’t a Bladedancer-only item, Bladedancer’s will benefit more from Defensive Reflex using their Shadowjack talent.

If you wanted to, you could solo the first part of Crota’s End without breaking a sweat! When you are struck by melee, you are granted 3 seconds of invisibility (6 seconds using Shadowjack). There is no cool down either, so the moment you are exposed, you are lined up for yet another vanishing act the next time you’re struck.

This sort of ability is absolutely priceless in PvE. It’s a great perk that will allow you to escape those sticky situations.

Heart of the Praxic Fire is easily one of the most sought after Exotic armor pieces.  This chest is specific for Sunsinger, as it requires Radiance to take advantage of Praise the Sun.

It has a decent roll of 135/145 Discipline, maxing out around 170.

Talents

  • Fusion Rifle Ammo – Increases the amount of Fusion Rifle ammunition you can carry.
  • Heavy Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Heavy Weapons ammunition you can carry.
  • Praise the Sun – Further decreases all ability cooldowns while Radiance is active.

Should I buy it?

With the right skills selected, you can become an infinite grenade/scorch machine when Radiance is active. Which grenade type to use is really a personal preference, but the ability to completely deny areas with Solar grenades while using this armor is very useful in both PvP & PvE.

Add Flame Shield, Radiant Will, and Gift of the Sun to really give you an edge. Furthermore, if you’re with another Sunsinger with this chest, Praise the Sun is affected by other Sunsingers’ Song of Flame.

The Praise the Sun perk will decrease your Grenade and Melee cooldowns by about 25%.  There isn’t an exact amount of time for this, as your cooldown speed will vary based on your armor’s stats.

Heart of the Praxic Fire is excellent in PvE for taking out large numbers of enemies very quickly.  It can also be very useful in PvP is your play still is to get up close and personal with the help of Scorch and grenades. The extra fusion rifle ammo will be perfect for the Vex Mythoclast.
