Incoming Shipments

#3 – SUROS DIS-47 | Scout Rifle

  • Hammer Forged, Full Auto, Smallbore

Yes! Last week, Full Auto was on our wishlist, and now we get it with great accompanying perks! This scout rifle fires so fast, you’ll want Full Auto to take pulling the trigger off of your mind in high-stakes encounters. Smallbore will help us stay on target in PvE with its stability buff, and the range benefits of Smallbore and Hammer Forged make this gun a beast in the Crucible.

Although we could ask for just a bit more stability with hand-laid stock, it’s hard to pass up this gun with Full Auto. If you have more than one package of these ordered and want some more stability, you can hope and pray for a Full Auto roll next week with Hand-Laid Stock.

#1 – Tuonela SR4 | Scout Rifle

  • Rescue Mag, Smallbore, Eye of the Storm/Grenadier

Rank #2 and Rank #3 are stuck with Replenish, which we can’t even label as situationally useful; it’s a bad perk. In a contest of sucking less, Rank #1 “wins” with the range/stability of Smallbore and the utility of Grenadier. You could use Eye of the Storm in combination with Rescue Mag for a bit of synergy in those moments of critical health, but Grenadier will work better for trash-clearing in PvE.

This gun often comes in with three terrible rolls, but don’t lose hope in this scout rifle. It has the potential to be a PvE beast with a better roll. This gun can roll perks like Firefly, Triple Tap, Hand-Laid Stock and Zen Moment, so there’s hope for next week. While Rank #1 is the best option this week, you may be better served to hold on to this package for more rolls next week.

#2 – Kumakatok HC4 | Hand Cannon

  • Luck in the Chamber, Rifled Barrel, Outlaw

These rolls are much more impressive than last week’s. Although Rank #1 and Rank #3 have Firefly, Rank #2’s roll wins out by giving us an option to increase range to competitive levels with Rifled Barrel. Outlaw will still be amazing for trash-clearing in PvE, but by improving the gun’s abysmal base 15 range, you can shoot things from further than sneezing distance! The downside to Rifled Barrel is decreased reload speed, but obviously, Outlaw will negate this reduction. Luck in the Chamber is a no-frills damage buff, and it can come in handy for taking out majors or putting some more damage on a strike boss. Plus, it can save your life in PvP.

Any – Uffern HC4 | Hand Cannon

  1. Luck in the Chamber, Rifled Barrel, Outlaw
  2. Army of One, Extended Mag, Firefly
  3. Zen Moment, Reinforced Barrel, Outlaw

These are really a PvE player’s dream. The three rolls here all make sense, and there isn’t a clear winner. With Rank #1, we’ve got a copy of the Kumakatok, buffing range with Rifled Barrel, increasing DPS with Luck in the Chamber and moving on to the next clip even faster with Outlaw.

Rank #2’s roll will be the favorite of many with a solid Firefly build. Army of One is a powerful boost to ability cooldowns, and Extended Mag is always a good thing for extra clip size. As long as your game doesn’t crash, Firefly is always the ultimate handcannon perk, making your headshots that much more explosive in PvE.

For Rank #3, Reinforced Barrel gets this gun’s range to decent levels, and Zen Moment immediately shores up the decrease in stability. Outlaw is still awesome for quick reloads, and we’re left with a pretty good trash-clearing PvE primary. Take notes, Tuonela! You can even go for Extended Mag over Reinforced Barrel for a full-on close range trash-killing build. Sureshot IS is the best sight option for handcannons, offering the best blend of aim assistance and handling. This roll is my personal choice.

#1 or #3 – SUROS PDX-45 | Pulse Rifle

  • Perfect Balance, Hidden Hand, Rifled Barrel/Snapshot
  • High-Caliber Rounds, Spray and Play, Rifled Barrel/Speed Reload

The rolls this week are simply fantastic for this Hawksaw clone. Rifled Barrel makes perfect sense on Rank #1 and Rank #3’s build. This heavily improves range, which the PDX desperately needs, at the cost of some of its base 90 reload speed.

Choose Rank #1 if you want to bring the PDX into PvP. Perfect Balance and Hidden Hand will give you as much competitive range as possible with increase hitboxes. Although Pulse Rifles are going to see a nerf soon, this roll should survive with its perfect stat/perk blend.

If you’re a hardcore PvE-er, you’ll definitely want to pick Rank #3’s roll instead. Spray and Play is awesome for putting more DPS on a strike or raid boss, increasing reload speed if you have the patience to empty your full clip. High-Caliber Rounds are great for staggering targets and keeping them in place (Brand-Wielding on Warpriest, anyone?),  and Speed Reload can be used over Rifled Barrel to increase reload speed to maximum levels.

Next Week’s Orders

Weapon Type Impact Notable Stat
Arminius-D Auto Rifle Lowest Aim Assistance (80)
Zarinaea-D Auto Rifle Low Reload Time (65)
SUROS DIS-43 Scout Rifle Medium Range (77)
Thesan FR4 Fusion Rifle High Stability (81)
Jingukogo-D Shotgun Low Reload Time (35)

Arminius-D | Auto Rifle

With the impending auto rifle buff, we’re definitely interested in what’s offered for this gun next week. In terms of impact, think of a Nechrochasm or Atheon’s Epilogue but with low base stability and high base reload speed. There aren’t too many perks that can make these bullet hoses desirable unless you’re already used to them, but we’ll see next week if there are enough perks offered to shore up the stability while providing some use in either PvE or PvP.

Zarinaea-D | Auto Rifle

The Zarinaea-D is a Monte Carlo archetype auto rifle, and it might just be a beast once the new weapon-balancing patch comes out. It has above-average base stability, range and reload speed, so next week, we’ll be looking for whatever we can find to make it better for PvE and PvP next week.

SUROS DIS-43 | Scout Rifle

This Scout Rifle falls in a Vision of Confluence archetype, and with a magazine size of 19, it should be great for PvE despite its stability issues (base 48). With a range of 77, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a situation where this Scout Rifle isn’t hitting for full damage. This is always a good choice if you want a solid PvE Scout Rifle, and if you’re interested in something that’s competitive in the Crucible, the 19 clip size can buffer the downsides of perks like Smallbore and Feather Mag.

Thesan FR4 | Fusion Rifle

If you love Fusion Rifles, this is always the gun to order. With 94 Impact and 81 Stability, this gun melts faces even with sub-standard perks. Of course, that doesn’t mean that perks can’t help it; this gun can benefit from range perks, and reload speed is always key in Crucible and Raids.

Jingukogo-D | Shotgun

Despite being named differently than the Strongbow-D, this shotgun is basically the same. Basically, it’s in the low-impact, high rate of fire class, usually preferred in PvE. We’ll look to see if there are any interesting rolls next week regardless, as certain perks like Spray and Play can make shotguns much more viable in PvE.
