Plan C is certainly a weapon to be feared in the Crucible and is underutilized. The same strengths that make it an all-purpose machine in PvE make it outright deadly in PvP. Its high Impact, Range, and Stability guarantee it one-shot kills at distances that can seem downright unfair to the unlucky victim.

Statistically, this weapon has very few downsides. You could argue that its base Stability and Range are slightly too low to match a couple other popular alternatives, but Plan C can remedy either of these by taking advantage of its quality first and third-row perk choices, as discussed above.

Plan C‘s magazine size of 5 is also a bit of a disappointment; many Fusion Rifles have 6+ charges per clip. Fortunately, the Reload Speed of 100 makes this a non-issue unless you absolutely need 6 or more consecutive shots.

The introduction of Brawler has saved the Peregrine Greaves from the bottom tier because 4x damage becomes 8x damage, and with the addition of Arc Burn, the Peregrine Greaves actually aren’t bad at all.

The 140 Intellect roll is average, maxing out at 166.

Talents

  • Heavy Weapon Ammo  Increases the amount of Heavy Weapon ammunition you can carry.
  • Peregrine Strike – Shoulder Charge deals bonus damage when activated in the air.

Should I buy it?

Well, if there are no friendly modifiers, by no means should you choose the Peregrine Greaves. Shoulder Charge is a losing strategy without a lot of help, and they’re a (great looking) novelty in most content.

At the middle tier of PvP Titan Exotics, there are two situations in which the Peregrine Greaves are more than just fancy shoes: Super and Ram counter-play. A Striker using a Shoulder Charge on a Radiant Sunsinger, Arc Blade-wielding Bladedancer, or max-Armor Warlock with the Ram Exotic Helmet will be able to take down these deadly foes before they can wreak havoc on a vulnerable team.

However, as this mandates charging headfirst into their path, it also requires perfect timing and zero fear. Aside from the Exotic perk, extra Heavy Ammo and pure Intellect are positive arguments for its use as well. Again though, the Peregrine Greaves are only ever going to have niche utility, so make sure you’ve got a couple other standby Exotics.

This piece of armor is a subclass-neutral, perfect for Trials. As with each of the Exotic chests, you’ll get additional ammo for your weapons.

The 140/147 Strength roll is average, maxing out at 181.

Talents

  • Special Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Special Weapon ammunition you can carry.
  • Hand Cannon Ammo – Increases the amount of Hand Cannon ammunition you can carry.
  • Keeper of the Pack – You revive fallen teammates faster, and they revive you faster. Your Super also spawns additional orbs for teammates.

Should I buy it?

Unfortunately this chest specifically helps out hand cannon users, so that might make it less useful for you if you barely (or never) use hand cannons. As you can see in the video, Timur’s Lash got an ammo reserve increase of 20.

Keeper of the Pack cuts the revive time by about .6 seconds, allowing you to revive fallen Guardians (or them to revive you) in just 1 second. The additional Orb generation it provides isn’tthe same all the time, but from Gunslinger testing, it produced just 1 extra.

If you don’t play 3v3 modes, or usually play by yourself in PvE, this isn’t the chest for you. Keeper of the Pack is medic-like and support orientated, so it’ll benefit your teammates more than it’ll benefit you specifically.

This is an OK helm to have as any Warlock, as it’s subclass-neutral.

Another average roll: 103/109 Discipline, maxing out at 137

Talents

  • Serpent’s Tail – Causing damage with a melee reduces your grenade cooldown.
  • Infusion – Replenishes health each time you pick up an Orb of Light.
  • Private Reserves – Immediately regenerate health on activating your Super.

Should I buy it?

Private Reserves is one of those perks that can potentially save your life and turn around and engagement, equally useful in PvP and PvE, but is a perk that will only benefit you in a few situations.

This is another piece of gear that strongly encourages a grenade lobbing playstyle. Any melee damage causes a boost in the recharge of your grenades; you don’t even have to land a kill to get more energy.

If you’re low on health, you can pop your Nova Bomb to obliterate anything nearby and let your health regenerate. As a Sunsinger, you can activate your Radiant Skin and regain your health before you even enter a fight.

Private Reserves is a niche perk, but it can be worked into pretty much any playstyle with ease. In Crota’s End hard mode, this perk plus Infusion will allow you to easily regenerate health and is perfect for the Crota encounter.
