There’s no doubt that Plan C is well-equipped for almost all PvE content. Its base stats and perfectly rounded perk profile lead to a weapon that is defined by its role in adapting to and dealing with any number of challenges.

Check out how we place it in our PvP and PvE Exotic tier list, and we also have a full review for it (also comparing it with P.I.)

Should I buy it?

Its base model has very impressive statistics, made only better by the fantastic options available to it in 1st and 3rd row perks. Its mobility, stability, and range, used in tandem with its signature perk make it the ideal archetypal Fusion Rifle. Moreover, mixing and matching perks doesn’t handicap it enough to force it into a single build. It’s this ability to adapt that makes Plan C such an attractive option for anyone looking for a Fusion Rifle in PvE.

In the Crucible, Plan C is certainly a weapon to be feared. The same strengths that make it an all-purpose machine in PvE make it outright deadly in PvP. Its high Impact, Range, and Stability guarantee it one-shot kills at distances that can seem downright unfair to the unlucky victim.

Plan C can also ignore the Fusion Rifle nerf at all but the most extreme distances, as its base Range and Stability are more than enough to keep its spread nice and tight. Its signature Exotic perk means that anyone using it can be a threat up to the very last second of their death, as switching from a Primary and firing a single burst happens in an instant.

Comparison

  • Above Average: Impact, Range, Reload Speed
  • Below Average: Stability

Notable Perks

  • Hip Fire: This weapon has bonus accuracy while firing from the hip.
  • Plan C: Charge and equip times are very short immediately after weapon swap.

Its a great starter Exotic, especially for PvE. When you consider the excellent Intellect/Discipline split-stat profile, along with the PvE-favorite Inverse Shadow and niche lifesaver Infusion, the Eternal Warrior actually begins to eclipse the Helm of Inmost Light in outright PvE potency.

Talents

  • Inverse Shadow: Increased Super energy gained from killing minions of the Darkness.
  • Infusion: Replenishes health each time you pick up an Orb of Light.
  • Resolute: Provides Unstoppable for Fist of Havoc.

Should I buy it?

You can go with Shoulder Charge or Juggernaut knowing you’ll be sponging plenty of damage when unleashing your Fist of Havoc. While the Helm of Inmost Light might be a more appealing option for its ability to provide two free Striker perks, this helm is arguably just as good; Headstrong is fairly worthless in tandem with Death From Above, so you’re basically comparing Unstoppable to Death From Above, in which case the choice is less abundantly clear.

Like the stalwart and impassive face of the statue you’ll be inhabiting, you will be indomitable and well-equipped for any situation, even if you lack the flash of a truly fun Exotic perk.

Both Shoulder Charge and Unstoppable are must-haves for PvP, and the Eternal Warrior won’t force you to pick between either. You can face a Felwinter’s Lie buckshot blast to the face and live with Unstoppable, and Shoulder Charge is a one-hit killer that  is a delight to land. Intellect/Discipline is the exact profile a Striker wants in both PvE and PvP, so you’re all good there.

Perfect for Trials, or any 3v3 PvP Crucible mode.

The roll is OK, at a low-ish 140/148 Strength.

Talents

  • Special Weapon Ammo – Increases the amount of Special Weapon ammunition you can carry.
  • Hand Cannon Ammo – Increases the amount of Hand Cannon ammunition you can carry.
  • Keeper of the Pack – You revive fallen teammates faster, and they revive you faster. Your Super also spawns additional orbs for teammates.

Should I buy it?

If you are a team player in PvP, this chest could swing 3v3 matches in your favor. Of course being able to revive quicker in PvE is beneficial too, especially when you’re pressed for time.

This piece of armor is a subclass-neutral. As with each of the Exotic chests, you’ll get additional ammo for your weapons.

Unfortunately this chest specifically helps out hand cannon users, so that might make it less useful for you if you barely (or never) use hand cannons. As you can see in the video, Timur’s Lash  got an ammo reserve increase of 20.

The Purifier Robes are the Sunsinger Exotic to have, especially in that they’re the only Sunsinger-specific Exotic that is coming with House of Wolves.

Talents

  • Serpent’s Mouth: Causing damage with a grenade reduces your melee cooldown.
  • Serpent’s Tail: Causing damage with a melee reduces your grenade cooldown.
  • Burn Brighter: Activating Radiance from death disorients nearby enemies.

Should I buy it?

Unfortunately, the Purifier Robes are not wholly suited to PvE with Burn Brighter. It’s very rare that a Sunsinger is in immediate danger of being insta-killed upon being reborn from the dead, and the ability to temporarily stun foes will be only marginally useful in most situations.

What’s more, it forces your Sunsinger to run Fireborn, and requires dying in order to use. Yes, you could tactically allow yourself to be downed in the midst of a horde of enemies, but this is only really useful one or two times before your team starts wondering why you aren’t just staying alive and popping skulls from a safe distance.

The Purifier Robes are going to be a most powerful in PvP, causing mayhem and confusion as you pop back up in glorious golden light to rain fiery death upon those who thought to spoil your fun. However, the range is very limited and the effect only lasts a few seconds.
